I think when my copy arrives I will place it after Porco Rosso, chronologically, as I had earlier suggested.
It says 宮崎駿監督作品 which is:

宮崎 Miyazaki
駿 Hayao
監督 Director
作品 Works

The works of director Hayao Miyazaki. Though, I am no expert in Japanese, that's for sure.

Very jealous! But thank you for posting the pics and info. Even on those photos off the TV I can see the extra detail and crispness of the image, it looks gorgeous.

As I don't know anyone in Japan it would have been extra-painful to have bought the Japanese Miyazaki box set and then not been able to get OYM even now, but I am genuinely happy for those of you who do get it. I'll just have to keep hoping it gets another release sometime, somehow. *sigh*.

I'm going on a holiday with my wife next week and all I can think about is getting my hands on Princess Kaguya

Yeah, I have to say I am COMPLETELY stoked for Princess Kaguya on BD. Such an amazing film in theaters... I saw it twice and loved, loved, loved it.

I'm so upset that there isn't a theater in my city playing it. Wind Rises played in a bunch of places.

Princess Kaguya will be the last film I'll buy on Bluray of the silhouette series along with the Yamadas.
(still have 13 to complete the collection)

I'm really disappointed there has been no Uk festival screening yet, i guess thats sadly a reflection on interest level.

It's too bad you have such an ingrained bias against the film, simply because of the way it looks -- you're missing out on something truly incredible, and unlike anything else the studio has ever done. In any case... you'll be in for a real surprise when you finally see it

well, usually I know from the trailer if I will like something or not. (and my instict has never failed me)
People said the same thing about Yamadas, that it's incredible etc. etc., but it did absolutely nothing to me really.
(though i saw it only once)

Yes, My Neighbors the Yamadas is also a treasure, but I supposed if you're not in the mind frame of getting married, having kids, raising a family, and appreciating all the good and bad that goes along with that, then you might not appreciate it. Princess Kaguya, on the other hand, is a lot more along the lines of what Ghibli has done in the past -- grand, epic morality tales -- but with a completely different way of looking at things.

My wife really enjoyed Kaguya, but for her, the Ghibli films she loves are the ones that remind her of what being a little kid was like -- Kiki, Totoro, Ponyo, Spirited Away, etc. Everyone has their tastes! Let us know what you think of the film when you see it.

You're absolutely right! I'm not! (I don't like families, and kids etc.)
Though I don't think that's the reason.
I mean i love other films about family values etc..

I want that On Your Mark so bad, but don't want to buy the Miyazaki set. I already have 90% of the collection. I hope someday someone will upload on youtube... lol

That won't happen until next year, when 'When Marnie Was There' is released. Then everybody will finally have a complete collection, albeit with Ocean Waves in SD format.

I'm sure you will find it *elsewhere* too in high quality, but that's not the point for me.
I would like to buy it!

Do they understand that they will lose so much money by the people who will download this because they can't afford to buy the Miyazaki set or because they already have the individual titles?

Well if you're looking at it that way, then until they actually release Kaguya next week, your collection is complete right now, with every currently released title...

But, we all know what you meant...
