I thought the exact same thing.

The trailer looks awesome, though I'm surprised we saw no original cast anywhere in it.

Did anyone else catch the title? Absolutely no "Episode 7" anywhere. Just "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

When it all comes down to it, of course it's about making money. Lot's of money.

But maybe, just maybe the Exec's at Disney are like many of us. They truly love Star Wars and loved the idea of visiting that world again. But they now have the power to make that dream come true, and thank you Disney for making it come true.

Great teaser!

That lightsaber looks kind of stupid though.

Can't wait for the full trailer. When do we get that?

There's only a few movie trailers that make me get up and dance around the house and that was one of them.

The enunciation's different, there's almost a Scandinavian quality to it especially the "Der hass been an awakening" line. That would put in line with it being more like Max von Sydow, only the voice is far too young-sounding for him. It's not Cumberbatch.

I have no issue with a film maker using the tools at his disposal. I don't mind the CGI of the prequel trilogy.

Like I said, I hope the movie explains a lot of my questions. For example, why are there even storm troopers? Why make that lightsaber have two small red "guards" other than "because we can" (it looks stupid). Why are the Xwings and Falcon flying 2 feet off the water/ground other than "because it looks cool". With the Emperor and Vader wiped out, and the "rule of 2"...how is there what looks to be another Sith? Why is there a guy in a stormtrooper suit that looks nothing like the original clones? When was the last time you saw a stormtrooper with his helmet off? If you are going to use the original cast, why not show at least one of them in the teaser.

I certainly understand people's excitement because it's Star Wars, and I am happy another movie is coming. However, this teaser didn't do much to allay some of my fears about where this whole thing is going. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

I mean, Disney has showed Marvel tons of respect. They know you only get fans and money from a great product. Avengers, guardians, tron... All great movies with much respect and time put in.

This is Star friggin WArs. They are gonna do it justice.

It's not Max Von Sydow doing the voice over. He has always spoken English with some Swedish/Scandinavian accent, making his voice very recognizable.

Funny thing is, if you look at the copyright at the end of the trailer it's simply '2014 LUCASFILM', there's no Disney in sight. Which is what I and several others have been saying all along: this is LFL's production, not Disney's.

If you are going to bring up the original cast...then where is even one of them in the trailer? I'm talking about the trailer here...

Dude, this is only a teaser, we're lucky we got that much! We'll get a glimpse of the original stars in the proper trailers, I'm sure.

If (and this is a huge if) they didnt imagine the backlash us nerds will give them hahaha. I think they got this one right with JJ at the helm. He never cared for Star Trek but I loved what he did with those movies. So with his love for Star Wars and based on the teaser, think its in great hands. I also for one am glad Disney is pumping out toy after toy, Im trying to get my 5 yr old son into these movies, so every little but help.

Now wheres my time machine, I going to Dec 2015 =)

That 'saber' cross-guard on the hilt of the lightsaber was stupid. The only good thing about the trailer was the Millenium Falcon but it looks like Abrams decided to modify it. It looks too thin.

But, I did come across what appears to be a different version of the trailer posted on Youtube:
