I occasionally encounter the same issue when watching content from my cable box after it has been on (and or in standby) for several days. I fix it by completely powercycling the cable box.
I'm not sure what causes this to happen from a technical point of view; nor do I understand the inner workings of HDMI. I know there is a handshake at some point in time, but if you keep your gear in standby mode, does the handshake still occur? or does it rely on the initial handshake? Anyway, I don't think anything is wrong with your receiver though. Like the others said, it may be a cable issue. Hell, that may be the case in my situation as well. |
