But nope, Yoda clearly says he's not going to teach Luke anymore today. So he is at least a couple of days on Dagobah. Han and company are probaly hiding a few hours in that "cave" and spend maybe a day in Bespin. Maybe this was just a screwup in the writing deparment. But it never really bothered me.
His main training we don't get to see, set between empire and return... He is not really a knight until he makes his own (green) saber.

He is basically given the force bootcamp in empire.

Not to mention, wielding the force is more like enlightenment. It is something that just clicks with the right people (in the fiction of Star Wars that is lol)

I want to know if they will show Leia as being more force sensitive now?

The longest amount of time would be between the events of New Hope and Empire, but as we see with his training with Yoda, he doesnt have mad skills. And if ROTJ is a direct continuation of Empire, how much time did Lando, Luke and Leah spend planning the "save Han" scheme? So during that time Luke became a jedi master?
I dont like or support the prequels, but I do get a sense that Anakin had a lot of training to become a jedi.

A whole tv series spinoff could be about how Lando joined Jabba's crew.

I watched ANH and TESB Friday and RotJ Saturday. I was wondering about the amount of training Luke had, particularly between empire and RotJ.

I found this discussion which indicates 3 yrs between ANH and TESB, and 1 yr between TESB and RotJ. That makes sense to me.

Also this, How long was Luke Skywalker's training with Yoda?

The trailer confirmed a lot of the leaked information. They could also be correct about Luke being the
[Show spoiler]main villain
, my own theory is that he might be the one who triggered the awakening.

I read on one of the many Star Wars blogs a few folks who have been analyzing the teaser seem to think or at least speculate that the sith shown could be Luke himself. Anyone else think that?

Also as we all know the Expanded Universe is not canon, but I wonder if Lea will be shown using force powers. After all in Empire, Yoda tells Obi-Wan that Luke was not the last Hope.....

I think it's possible, but don't give it much credence. That "sith" was not moving like a 70yr old "ex-Jedi".
Seriously I don't think Luke will be THE bad guy. Sure he might have his typical inner conflict, but will do right in the end. I think all three, Luke/Han/Leia will meet their end(maybe Leia being the only survivor) and I can see Luke and Han going out in a blaze of glory(ie. passing the baton).

But that's the great thing about a teaser trailer. We are all thoroughly teased.

The one little bit of magic that won't be there this time around, thanks largely to the internet/social media...is there won't be much suspense as I'm sure this whole film will be leaked by the time it releases. A shame, as I can remember reading Starlog magazine(and others) gobbling up every bit of Empire, and then Jedi, information I could.
This time around I will actually have to avoid delving to deep into the interwebs, as I want to be thrilled in the theatre...not at my PC, or on my tablet.

I agree. I am going to try not to read to many spoilers as we get closer to the actual release. I do think Han will sacrifice himself, only because Ford wanted to do so in Empire. I can Luke getting axed off as well and becoming the Ghost Jedi. After all he is the Obi-Wan of the sequel trilogy.

It would be really interesting to see how close JJ's revision of GL's story turns out to be. It sounded like Arndt's outline was very similar to what George had layed out. Of course when JJ took over he wanted the original cast to have a bigger part in Episode VII with the transition to the new cast in Episode VIII. Certainly though that won't be the only change.

Of course we may never know GL's original outline.

In ESB, when Luke is trying to convince yoda to train him and says, "but I've learned so much", I always think, no you haven't. He barely had any time with Obi Wan in ANH and seemed to only have grasped the basic concept of the force. As far as what we were shown, he barely knew anything. It wasn't until his time with yoda that he really started to learn anything.
When you see in the PT, the years of daily training it takes as a padawan learner, Luke was basically fast tracked and had very little knowledge and skill training in comparison.

Just because he might be bad guy, doesn't mean he's bad guy.

You guys are overthinking this. Yoda made it clear that being a Jedi is more about a person's character than his/her skills.

I never got that from what yoda was saying. There were clear concepts in regards to the force that were much harder for Luke to grasp because he was older when he was learning them. As when yoda said, "you have to unlearn what you have learned". It seemed that the key was belief in what's being taught. Believing without seeing and what goes against your mind as to what is and isn't possible.
That's why they teach it to kids because they more readily accept things as they're being taught. I'm just going by the story as it was presented to me.

This. At the end of ROTJ, Luke finally understands, and it's clearly not his outrageously amazing skills. Lol

It's enlightenment in a way. Letting go of everyone and everything. That's true salvation. Everything else inevitably leads to suffering, such as his attachment his sister, etc..

Yes, Luke was doing the same as you guys, overemphasizing physical skills over inner peace with his surroundings.

I'm at a loss to see how you got that out of what I said. I clearly said it was out of belief in the concepts.

That shot at the end with all of the added TIE fighters had me in stitches.

Yup, at the end, Luke wins not because he fights but because he doesn't fight.
