I also don't think that Han and Leia are a couple...remember the EU has been tossed.
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. The first time that whole love thing came up was in the prequels. Regardless of wether the EU was tossed or not there has been a long history of force sensitive families having children and relationships between Jedi since the time before the prequels and and the time after the OT.

Not only that, but I still find him to be a harmless and sweet character. People seem to forget that Star Wars has always been a huge thrill for children and Lucas certainly recognized that. JarJar appealed to kids. And I love him too. Heck it was practically said in the Empire of Dreams documentary that Lucas developed the ides of Star Wars as a way to make an impression on young people.

These are difficult times that are lived in that galaxy...

My money is (RUWEE NABERRIE) after all she is Padme's father, and Leia's grandfather it would seem more believable if Han had left her with him seeing as he is family.
Here's more speculation, and 2 of their 3 choices are on your list.

Hmm so he may be an existing character from the prequels, have a connection to the Sith and isn't force sensitive.

Perhaps he worked for Palpatine when he was the chancellor of The Republic and was aware that he was a Sith Lord?

Maybe once Palpatine formed The Empire he was a highly ranked person like Grand Moff Tarkin?

Is Max Von Sydow known for New Zealand accents? Why in the world would Han and Leia's daughter be hanging out with cyborg Boba Fett? Why would Boba Fett be collecting Sith and Jedi historical artifacts?

It doesn't make any sense.

Exactly!
It's pretty obvious who Max Von Sydow is going to portray:
[Show spoiler]Uncle Owen.

[Show spoiler]Owen just pretended to be a charred skeleton in Episode IV, clearly!

I'm not saying for sure it is him, but it has to be someone that will shock the viewer and be saved for a third act. All the other suggestions don't really add up because the general public does not even know these obscure characters.

Boba is one of the only main human characters from the ot or prequels that is not addressed (us being nerds and assuming the .1% of the eu preserved being boba's escape)

I also agree that the artifact collecting does not quite add up. I will add one thing I just thought in regards to Sydow being white vs darker like Jango. (And this May be a reach) but any darker people I have ever known that suffered burns ended up having really light pigmentation... So maybe he is all white and burned with missing limbs from the hell that is the Sarlacc pit.

It has to be a major character I believe.

Maybe the stomach acids in the Sarlaac gave him a free skin-bleaching treatment making him whiter, kinda like we saw with this guy:

C-3PO: You will therefore be taken to the Dune Sea, and cast into the pit of Carkoon, the nesting place of the all-powerful Sarlaac.

Han Solo: Doesn't sound so bad.

C-3PO: In his belly you will find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly transformed from a young black boy to a frail white woman.

Han Solo: On second thought, let's pass on that, huh?

I'm still going with Plagueis. They have those loose story threads from the Prequels they've got to address, and seeing this collector guy reveal himself to be Luke and Leia's grandpappy in the third act sure would be a shock. I can't think of anything else that makes any sense in terms of the saga's story structure.

If it isn't Fett, I honestly cannot think who it could be. Every other 'option' has been extremely minor character or was already too old. Fett was already pushing the age limit, primarily because he was what...8 in Episode 2?

He'd be the only dude that would be about 78, unless they went with another 'kid' that was Anakin's friend. And even then, they're so insignificant of characters that they aren't worth considering, IMHO. They'd be met with a "So?" instead of a "Wow!" factor.

The only -- and I mean only -- thing that makes me think it could be old Boba is the possibility of a Boba Fett stand-alone movie. We would see him revealed in 7, and 7 is the bedrock upon which the entire future is going to rest -- then we flashback in a stand-alone movie to see how Boba got that way. But that's the extent of my imagination at the moment.

The only human I can think of is Grand Moff Tarkin, who was glimpsed in the prequels. But I'm pretty sure he blew up when the Death Star exploded. Maybe he floated back to Tatooine, passing Luke's hand and lightsaber along the way?

We'll all probably go "Awww ... it's that guy ... I knew it was going to be him!" when we see the reveal (and have no idea who the character was!)!

I think this will end the Boba theory...

Ep.2 Boba.

Sydow.

Boba's look was already established in ep. 2...Sydow does not have any of his look not even skin color.

If Boba is mostly cyborg skin color won't matter too much. Hell, everyone hated the forced accent (especially in the line replacement in ESB), so who cares if they change it again? Sometimes you just get the best actor and say "who cares" in regards to some continuity.

One thing this would accomplish is solve the producer's riddle of how to make Boba Fett on the good guy side in his solo movie. If that movie is how he survived the Sarlaac Pit and set aside his bounty hunter ways in order to discover the Force Secrets of the Universe (collecting artifacts) as a means of reformation/discovery it could be compelling. Especially since he has so many clone brothers out there in the Universe that could contribute to an identity crises that he initially tried to handle as a bounty hunter but now has gone in another direction post-Sarlaac.

In any case, looks like the new cast will be great, and I like what I've read about the basic story outline. Sets a lot of the film series up for some interesting drama. I especially love the "war of attrition" angle as it's taking the "lived in" universe from the OT aspect to another level.
