Yes FFXII did fit onto one DVD when it was release on PS2.

Lost Odyssey was on 4, so FFXIII will more than likely be 4 maybe 5.

I understand how you feel gamma but Sony cannot afford to put all of their eggs into one basket. I'm sure Sony wanted to keep FF13 exclusive but they cannot lose all profitability in order to do it. I can only imagine the $$ it would've taken to keep FF13 exclusive to Sony.

Well I think Sony has to have something bigger up their sleeve for tomorrow. This is like Halo going to the PS3.

if SE doesn't jepordize what PS3 would have gotten if this was PS3 exclusive, why do we care if the 360 gets it too??:?

I only get pissed when i see games get lowered to fit onto the 360. This doesn't bother me that much if SE puts it on 5 DVDs.

Eh, I think Square is probably comfortable enough with all the money that they will make on Japanese PS3 Final Fantasy sales, that the 360 market doesnt even matter to them. Just some extra cash from the US market.

Sony dropped the ball on this one. Things may be heading multi-console as a way of life, but there are a few defining titles that are worth fighting over. Final Fantasy is definitely one of those titles.

This announcement rivals the GTA IV announcement Microsoft had a couple of years ago.

I'm with you. I seriously doubt this is going to impact Japanese sales of the 360 all that much. I guarantee you virtually no Japanese gamer is going to run out and buy a 360 over a PS3 because of Final Fantasy 13.

In the US and Europe, it will of course affect sales somewhat. How much remains to be seen. Have they announced the exclusive content for 360 yet? I'm halfway expecting that.

exactly. in japan this really isn't going to matter. 360 might have a small bump from the few Japanese who will now go out and buy a 360 for the same game that is coming to the PS3, but they are a vast minority.

In America, what MS did was take away sales from Sony of 360 owners who were planning to buy a PS3. This is only going to help 360 a little bit, GTA is a bigger series in America than FF is, and GTA didn't do anything wonderful for MS here.

Me thinks MS just spent about a quarter of a billion dollars, yeah i think it was that high when you include LR (timed exclusivty) and SO4 (exclusvity most likely) and it will not make that much back for them, it will only hurt their compeitors.

Nothing will convince the Japanese market to accept and buy the 360 at this point, not even Final Fantasy. The Japanese market has already soundly rejected the 360, and nothing is going to change their perception of Microsoft or the 360. Nothing.

I don't think there is such a thing as this. Most average joes just want quick action and explosions mostly from FPS, driving, and sports games. Typically they don't want to put in the time and effort into character development and story RPGs require (moreso even with JRPGs).
