which news was bigger? MAG or FF 13? - Blu-ray Forum

It's a bummer about FFXIII, but as long as it's on PS3, who cares?

MAG on the other hand, it's big news. Hopefully it won't become vaporware

I think FFXIII was the bigger news, but I care more about MAG. I've always wanted SOCOM on a larger scale, and this might finally do the trick. I'm not sure my mind can comprehend it right now. Too bad it's probably nearly 2 years away.

I'm a PS3 only owner, FFXIII was way, way, way bigger, when I heard that I thought to myself the only way Sony can top that is if they announce they got Gears of Wars 2 exclusive.

Exactly. I've never played one, nor do I care to.

EDIT: The option in the poll is wrong. "We" didn't lose anything. FF is still coming to the PS3, it's just also going to the Xbox.

I'm not going to bash Final Fantasy, because I really liked a few of the games (4, 6, and 7 are all great, in my opinion). The problem is, as I got older, I play less video games, and I'm pickier about the games I play.

That being said, I don't think I can invest the 100+ hours of time into a game that I'm essentially sitting around playing by myself. I wouldn't have thought this would happen, but I spend most of my video game paying time these days playing things online (Warhawk, CoD4, Rock Band, etc). If a game has no multi-player, I'm hard-pressed to buy it.

P.S. I can always use some more PSN friends, and currently have 0 from the BD forums.

FF XIII is the biggest news that I didn't give a crap about. PS3 owners lose nothing anyways. MS fans talk it up as the death knell for the PS3, yet why wasn't it the death knell for the 360 when it was only on the PS3, typical fanboy hypocrisy. IMO Bioshock is a bigger gain for the PS3.

Best news is hard for me, God of War III is fantastic news

PS3's line up easily being the most impressive. Dissappointed by the Wii's announcements..

the wii had announcements? Here is my take on it which I am sure no one will read any way.

The FF 13 news: That was MIND BLOWING! But I didn't vote for it. Why? Because as long as I still get it for my PS 3 it doesn't matter that much to me.

MAG: Why did I vote for it? I'm not that much of a multiplayer guy. BUT! I voted for it cause HUGE! IT's a game that will have to harness all of the PS3.

I guess my thoughts are yes I am surprised a little by the FF13 announcement but not that surprised. It's been rumored over and over and that alone should have let people know that M$ was probably behind the scene throwing $$$ at another Sony supporter. I call this M$ vs. Sony Scene 2...Scene 1 was the obvious.

Anyhoot, I've never played FF13 but do realize and understand the importance to supporters. With that being said, it is pretty obvious M$ needed this more than anything because they knew this game would sale a ton of PS3's. They really didn't show anything else that wasn't known at their conference and actually didn't have anything new or original to show. In some ways, I call it a ripoff conference for them...Avatar's ripped from wii, Ins rip of Sing Star and obviously $$$ to rip exclusive from PS3. They have deeeeeeep pockets and have shown they will use them to try and get what they want. As many have said, don't be surprised if you see more happening.

With that being said, Square E still supports PS3 and probably know they have upset a lot of their fans by this. I would say not to worry about the PS3 version being dummied down...it probably won't be.

I forgot to say that I'm glad to see that Sony is still bringing something new to the table and that is why I voted for MAG!

Neither of these games is going to hit until 2010 (at least in the States). By that time it will be obvious which console will be in 2nd this gen. This will change nothing. MS will be launching a new console within the next 12 months, by the time the 360 gets FFXIII and by the time MAG or FFXIII comes out we will have seen stuff out of the new MS console that blows it all away.

Sony will launch there console in late 2012/ early 2013.

I voted MAG cause FFXIII is not that big a deal to me. Sure it won't help Sony as much. But we STILL HAVE IT! And it is highly likely it will look better on the PS3 anyways.
MAG is exciting... 256, the logistics of it... this really intrigues me.

12 months for a new xbox? your kidding your self pal. It will NOT be in the next twelve months! SOMETHING would have been hinted at. Although the next two to three years that is very possible. look for an announcement at next years E3.
