High end digital cameras (and film cameras, for that matter) have been ‘HDR capable’ for years.

But yes, in the case of BT.2020 colorimetry, it would require changing the entire content preparation workflow. It must be supported from acquisition (Sony’s F65 S-Gamut is probably the closest match) through editing and color grading facilities, including support in studio monitors.
