Maybe it will all work out, but right now it looks like a downgrade at HC.

He wanted a pay raise and extension, and we said not yet. But yes, he was against the Watkins pick from what I've read.

Like I said, right now it seems like a move backwards...but only time will tell.
I guess I was hoping beyond hope Rex would become Philly's DC, but there were just too many HC options available. Just like every season.

Hiring a guy who has shown the ability to get the most out of a defense, but lacks any ability to develop a functioning QB.... is a great decision when you have a great defense and no functioning QB. Guess we can call the Bills "Jets North" now.

Sounds like our OC is going to be Greg Roman. Excellent fit for us, and he's been a very productive playcaller in this league.

I didn't want him on my team, and our offensive is stacked (minus the offensive line, which did improve). But I'm glad you have confidence in his ability to completely change how he's coached and run his teams. Lots of good offensive assistants want to be in Buffalo whereas they didn't want to be in New Jersey, I guess.

Productive? His offenses have been in the bottom 3rd in 3 of his 4 years with the 49ers, with better talent on the field.

Good luck. I think your ownership is the good move you're team has made. Now you just have to hope their first moves don't negate the work Marrone did.

MF will never say anything negative about any of the moves they make. As a Jets fan who has watched Rex for 6 years, he's a mediocre HC at best. Great DC but mediocre HC. Trestman should have been the hire. Roman is another poor OC in a long list of Rex OC's.

The more I read about Marrone, the more I am glad he left. A lot of people around the team didn't care for him. I'm not saying he is a bad coach, just butted heads with people. Many of the Bills players seem pretty damn happy with Rex. They genuinely seem really excited.

Rex is a smart guy. I'd like to think he learned from his mistakes with the Jets. We did our homework and interviewed 12 candidates. Rex Ryan was our guy.
