Rotten Tomatoes
Besides, that's the tomatometer. The audience score is higher at 55% of people liking it. Not exactly great, but there were much worse films this year. TMNT gets unwarranted hatred, IMO. I'll watch TMNT over that stupid overrated Lego Movie piece of crap anyday. If any movie deserves a Razzie nomination this year, it's The Lego Movie.

Transformers was a mess, but I thought TMNT was surprisingly fun with good 3D effects. But then again, I had incredibly low expectation on that one. Megan Fox was annoying though - actually I think all the human characters were bad. But I surprisingly liked how they portrayed the turtles.

Expendables 3 wasn't that good either, but I thought Mel Gibson was the best part of that movie. Kelsey Grammer do deserve it though. He was so out of place in that movie. And Ronda Rousey was really a bad actress. She could handle the action, but I cringed every time she talked.

I am Christian (well Catholic, to be specific) and I have no desire to watch one clip of Saving Christmas. So this should sweep the entire rewards

55% is horrible for an audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. That's on par with Grown Ups 2, which has an audience score of 54%. Almost any piece of crap can net >60% in audience reviews on RT.

Yes, it's not like the serious actors were given anything to do. Whereas at least Nicola was generically hot (sorry, but I really play into "typical" "modern" "standards" for "judging" a woman's "beauty" and "hotness") for the whole movie

Honestly, I wouldn't even qualify the movie as bad, it was a little below mediocre (a huge improvement over the first three, to be sure). I feel like a lot of people (not necessarily you, mind) are still bitter from the first three and just bandwagon on the hate train, whereas Transformers 4 really isn't all that worthy of hate. Indifference, maybe.

Nicola Peltz was supposed to be playing a honor student. However, I had a hard time believing that she could even pass freshman year with the decisions her character makes. Not to mention that her performance made Jack Reynor's "am I Irish, Australian or American?" performance seem decent.

Seems like they could do either the Kirk Cameron joke OR the Nic Cage Left Behind joke, and Behind was just so much more deserving...

And apart from the obvious TF and Ninja Turtles jokes (ie., the same Michael Bay joke told twice--Even though TMNT was actually not-bad, since the Turtles are supposed to be goofy whereas the TF's are not), the nominations are surprisingly not gay-schoolyard this year--Not even a Sophia Coppola or Paris Hilton joke.
We even get the "Razzie Redeemer" award for ex-cheap Razzie punchlines who went on to do actual good films, like Ben Affleck.
Even the traditional "Worst combo" category had to be a bit desperate this year. ("Kirk Cameron and his ego" "Kellan Lutz and his pecs".)

The Razzies are just as worthwhile and relevant to art as the Oscars, which tells you all you need to know about both.

I dont care to gawk at tweeners, so I just found her annoying.

I personally loved the first and third ones, loathed the second one and part 4 was just so bori.g. Just more of the same.

That part when the daughter and her boyfriend talked abiut how their relationship may be rpae....just awful.

She looks like kinda like Tara Reid, before Tara Reid got all...used up looking.

As for T4, I didn't think it was horrific, it was mindless actiony fun. Though it was probably my favorite Transformers movie so far.

I honestly forget Kelsey Grammar was in the film, which doesn't mean he did a bad job or a good job, just that his role or ability blended in. I thought for a Razzie it really had to be over the top or horrible.

To some extent. Though I'd say the Razzies do a better job at picking the worst films than the Academy Awards do of picking the best. We have a whole industry of films that appears to be geared specifically towards Oscar voters. Many years the vast majority of moviegoers have never even heard of the Best Picture winner before the awards show.

Reviews for it were right down there with Saving Christmas. And Cage is a trainwreck these days. It seems the poor guy is taking literally any awful film just to make a few bucks to keep up with his horrible money management. Unfortunate as he was once a really good actor.

Your comment went the opposite of the way I expected it to go so for that I say, thank you. You're absolutely right, as well: the Razzies have a better track record than the Oscars.

You're right on the ball this morning. I had to bail from the "Nic Cage is the Greatest Actor Alive" bandwagon recently due to the insane amount of mediocre performances in shitty films he's been racking up.

If only Grumpy Cat had gotten a theatrical release.

If I misunderstood you here I apologize, but I'm not sure mainly nominating movies the majority of moviegoers know about would help anyone take the Academy Awards more seriously, that is if the intent is to be some kind of "judge of quality" which is the supposed purpose of award shows (though we know there's a lot of corruption and all that).

Don't get me wrong, I definitely get the impression there is a bit of snobbery and movies in certain genres - action, sci-fi, fantasy and horror for example - are rarely acknowledged even when they deserve it, sometimes seemingly just for the sake of ignoring them in a belief that they're "below the Awards' dignity". But going in the opposite direction and making it a point to give recognition to the most popular films of the year wouldn't make anything better.

Not a good analogy

A much better and more accurate one is that he is the Ray Milland of our time.
