This movie is available in other countries as well, but I don't have any stats on those editions, the JP release has the best PQ as far as I know, not sure about the AQ however.

Yes, that film was more than likely mixed only in 16-bit.

Also the DE has the black and white version in SD only.

It looks to be better in some shots and not in others. Right now I have the DE BD for the color version and disc two from the U.S. disc for the B & W version.

Thought so! Better keep that Final cut listing after all Goof. I actually sold my Final cut after deciding that I prefer the Theatrical cut out of all them. The Ultimate cut is a bit of a mess too really.

The Green Mile JP release definitely seems like it will be better... a better fine film grain resolve that looks more naturalistic (and should cause fewer soft spots throughout), a much higher bit-rate (which will help the film look better on large displays), and a better audio quality presentation. I do think anyone who cares should probably consider getting both the JP disc and the Luxe one for the supplements. I will import at some point.

Unless the bitrate is dangerously low (like, say below 15Mbps) it depends on the compression. I've seen plenty of poorly encoded high bitrate discs.
