Cross of Iron
US - No release UK - AVC 31997 kbps, LPCM 2.0 2304 kbps 24-bit, extras, English subs (Region B locked) Don’t know anything about this, but Amazon UK lists what it calls a “Dutch” (Netherlands?) release: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cross-Iron-1...ss+of+iron+blu It’s a Studio Canal release which is listed as “uncensored” : 133 minutes vs. the 127 minute “Digitally Restored” UK Optimum Home release. Both, unfortunately, are listed as region B. The site, however, lists 10 different versions (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Finland, Sweden & Japan - with the Japanese release being the only one listed as region A - 133 min.). Strangely, the site lists a 132 min. Studio Canal/ Optimum Classic release, presumably not the one listed on Amazon UK. The French Studio Canal release is also listed as 132 min., as is the SC Finnish release. Lastly, according to the site, the Swedish SC release is only 100 minutes. Any info from European or any worldwide posters would be welcome. ![]() |

And it's not uncommon to see a PAL running time listed on a UK BD release, 20th Century Fox always do it. |

![]() So I am to understand the European release of Thief is better both audibly and visually than the remastered CRITERION release in the US?? Wow, here I thought Criterion was supposed to be top notch in that department! I thought the Criterion disc looked and sounded phenomenal. |

Since I haven't got both to compare I can only say 99% No
![]() So DTS/DD--->DTS-HD HR--->DTS-HD MA/Dolby TrueHD Then it all depends on your equipment and such but like in the case of Saw 1-3 US vs rest of the world: YES!! it's a big diffrence to get better video codec AND lossless HD audio. |
