DTHD is "english 2." So, if you select english 2, put your receiver on "Straight" to hear DTHD.

As for the warnings you got on the receiver, always check your connections first. Make sure the speaker wire is connected correctly (positive to positive and negative to negative). When I first set mine up, the "wire out of phase warning" came up for my right rear speaker. Checked the connections, and it was good. Just a flaw of the auto calibration I guess. You can follow Sling's suggestion (on page 6 I think) to get the warning to go away.
