This movie totally deserves everything it has recieved. The movie is brilliant and is easily one of the best movies I have seen. I really hope Nolan returns to make a third and that they DON'T recast The Joker, Heath Ledger was amazing and no one could replace him in this role.

The Dark Knight has to be the best comic book movie I have ever seen. It is also on of the best crime epics I have ever seen. I can see why some critics compared this movie to Heat and The Departed. The Dark Knight is more interested in telling a story than being an action picture but it's also a brilliant action picture. I found this to be one of the most distubing films (I'm 24) I've seen since David Finchers increadible Se7en. At one point in the screening I actually said "sh**".

same here. some people seem to think that x-files is a little movie. but is very anticipated. it's been on my list of to see movies since back in 2000 when i heard about the sequel. more so than any other movie. as much i love the dark knight i just don't think it will take over the x-files: fight the future as my favorite movie. or thereabouts.

Excellent movie. As I watched it, I thought about the BD potential. I think it will have very good picture quality and stunning audio quality. The image had muted colors and was, of course, very dark for most of the movie. There appeared to be a little white crush -- especially in the first third. All of that was director's intent. But I would say, it could easily be a 5 or maybe a 4.5/5 in PQ and a 5 for sure for audio. I thought the audio was very dynamic and powerful.
Of course, the best part is the story and characterization of the movie itself. It was excellent and will probably be the biggest BD seller when it is released. |

Well I just came back from The Dark Night and it was totally awesome. I was the first one in the theatre (30minute early), because they were cleaning but I just walked in at the EXACT time they finished (there were like 30 people waiting outside
![]() ![]() I noticed on the counter that it beat Spiderman 3. Good. Spiderman 3 sucked, and The Dark Night was awesome. The Dark Night > Any other movie this year (except 007 ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Dark Night > Spiderman
I just hope, as someone has said previously, they don't recast The Joker. After watching Heath, he did such a good job and don't think anyone deserves to play the Joker again (in this series at least). |

Bad pasting.. MOD please fix *BATMAN BREAKS... *
New Batman movie The Dark Knight has stormed the U.S. box office chart, bringing in $155.34 million (GBP77.67 million) in its opening weekend. The Dark Knight was set for a record-breaking weekend, raking in a massive $66.4 million (GBP33.2 million) when it opened in U.S. theatres on Friday. And the franchise film, starring Christian Bale as its winged superhero and late actor Heath Ledger as movie villain The Joker, smashed the all-time opening weekend record of $151.1 million (GBP75.55 million), formerly held by 2007's Spider-Man 3. Other U.S. box office top spots were held by Meryl Streep's movie-musical Mamma Mia!, which took the second spot this weekend, earning $27.6 million (GBP13.8 million), and Will Smith's superhero blockbuster Hancock. Smith's film slipped to number three this weekend, but managed to add $14 million (GBP7 million) to its three-week total of $191.5 million (GBP95.75 million). Rounding out the top five are Brendan Fraser's Journey to the Center of the Earth, which took in $11.9 million (GBP5.95 million) in fourth place, and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which slipped from the top spot but earned an additional $10 million (GBP5 million).
