I was in the gym when I saw the clip of today's Marshawn footage... TV was on and I looked up at it, listened to the whole thing and screamed "YESSIR!"

Sorry to the Pats fans here... I don't hate the Pats, but it's my standard tradition to always pull for NFC unless the Titans make it (lol) or other AFC teams that have never won the big game (other than the Texans) make it.

I want Marshawn to get the MVP and have another epic run in a clutch situation.

I want a great game... not a blowout like last year. Although I can tell you that watching that game in Knoxville where everyone rides Peyton's d*ck was incredibly rewarding for me. I tried to reason with them saying that it would be the best defense Peyton has EVER faced. I guaranteed a Seahawks W. They were all in denial. It was sweet satisfaction for me, personally. I wanted the shutout.

I am pulling for the Seahawks and also picking them to win... same as last season. But this time around I'm not nearly as confident. It really could go either way. I expect a great game and a defensive battle

With the craziness going on with ticket prices I decided it's not worth going to Phoenix without a ticket and a strong likelihood that tickets won't be cheaper outside the game. Fortunately all the airline tickets I bought were refundable so I'm flying to Las Vegas tomorrow for a conference that starts Monday and I'll just watch the game at a sportsbook. It sucks that this is the year ticket prices went crazy (which it sounds like broker collusion may have at least partly caused) but there's nothing I can do about it.

Another Patriots controversy. How many is that now?

Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to tackle Nate Solder during that game (the AFC Championship) on a play that NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino should have been flagged as an illegal substitution.

“There was an issue on that play where on the previous play, [Cameron] Fleming had reported as an eligible player,” Blandino said, via CSNNE.com. “And on the Solder touchdown he went back to playing an ineligible position. That’s illegal. That’s an illegal substitution. So that’s something we discussed with the crew. Bill [Belichick] was made aware of it. So we’re going to be looking for that, make sure we follow the proper mechanics so that doesn’t happen again.”

I think it's just an outstanding matchup beteen two very evenly matched teams. Defending champs vs. Brady and Belichick going for a 4th championship. Makes sense ticket prices would be very high.

Tony Dungy said what Fleming did was legal because there was a stoppage of play. Guess even Super Bowl winning coaches don't fully understand the substitution rules:

Dungy also believed initially that the officials had missed an illegal formation foul on the Nate Solder play in the AFC title game (as folks like Jim Miller of SiriusXM NFL Radio have suggested), but Dungy has since become satisfied that receiver Brandon LaFell was close enough behind the line of scrimmage to not be “covering up” Solder, who was an eligible receiver on the play.

Dungy also noted that Cameron Fleming, who wears No. 71, had reported as eligible on the play before the Solder touchdown. Fleming then stayed in the game on the next snap, returning to an ineligible position. Because, as Dungy explained it, an administrative stoppage occurred between the two plays, Fleming was able to revert from eligible to ineligible.

Her actual due date is February 12th, making it completely possible that the baby could come at any time.

From what I've read it's their first child. Statistically speaking first born children are usually born late anyway. I think it's about a week late on average.

"I don't think college athletes are given enough time to really take advantage of the free education that they're given, and it's frustrating because a lot of people get upset with student-athletes and say they're not focused on school and they're not taking advantage of the opportunity they're given.

"I would love for a regular student to have a student-athlete's schedule during the season for just one quarter or one semester and show me how you balance that. Show me how you would schedule your classes when you can't schedule classes from 2-to-6 o'clock on any given day. Show me how you're going to get all your work done when after you get out at 7:30 or so, you've got a test the next day, you're dead tired from practice and you still have to study just as hard as everybody else every day and get all the same work done.

"[T]hose aren't the things that people focus on when talking about student-athletes. They are upset when a student-athlete says they need a little cash. Well, I can tell you from experience, I had negative-40 bucks in my account. Usually my account was in the negative more time than it was in the positive. You've got to make decisions on whether you get gas for your car or whether you get a meal for the day. You've got one of the two choices. People think, 'Oh, you're on scholarship.' They pay for your room and board, they pay for your education, but to their knowledge, you're there to play football. Athletes don't get enough credit, and a lot of the schools don't really do anything for the guys after they graduate. I think there are very few schools that actually care about the players.

They sell numbers of guys that don't have names on the back of the jerseys, but we all know who No. 2 is for College Station: Johnny Manziel, he makes so much for the university but he doesn't see any of the money.

"They need to come up with some kind of program. I would say, maybe $60,000 for every year you stay in college, and then at the end of the year they keep in some kind of 401k. You stay in college, you graduate, you keep that money until you're a certain age, and then after that you get that money and you get to determine what you want to do with it. And that gives you the chance to do something special in life, because you give so much to the schools, and they just move on.

"Of course, they can pay Jim Harbaugh $48 million because they don't have to pay any of the athletes. The athletes are the ones that make the school, it's not really the coach. If Nick Saban doesn't have those athletes that he has, can he still be Alabama?

"When I was in college, I'd be going to class, some student comes to me and says 'I pay your tuition.' I'm like, you don't pay my damn tuition. My mom paid my tuition when she worked two jobs, and I woke up every morning at 6 a.m. and I worked hard.
