The official release date, according to WB press site is March 24. Warner will also release The Hobbit trilogy (theatrical cut only) on the same day.

Is this going to be like LOTR, where at a later time another boxset is released with extended versions? If so, I'll wait for that.

Love the 2D art but will most likely go with the BB Steelbook unless some store gets exclusive content.

EDIT: Also like how the ACTUAL HOBBIT is finally getting his own cover, on the 3D version of the final movie.

Similar to the Highlander TV series. I bought the set with the box, but for people that bought them individually they could send away for the box.

You know they're going to release a deluxe trilogy box set in the fall, hopefully the definitive "There and Back Again" set with all 6 cuts, 3D versions, and all extras. I'll wait for that.

I didn't get a chance to see this, so I will give it a rental the first week and then purchase the extended version which it comes out...as I own the first two extended ones.

Hope the UK date will be announced soon. I'm hoping march but have a feeling that we might have to wait longer, unless they release it on march 23rd, but Paddington already has that date, then again two in one day isn't unheard of, I hope.
