Nope.
Heck, I wish I could buy even more Blu-rays than I do now. Seems like every month I get more and more behind on titles I want. Now, I am still pondering whether I will "future proof" my collection by buying 4K titles when they start releasing them even though I do not yet own a 4K capable T.V. or other 4K equipment. Hopefully, we see multi-disc packs on the more popular releases. But, I can just imagine what something like Star Wars Ep 7 would look like: 4K 3-D Blu-ray 4K Blu-ray 3-D Blu-ray Blu-ray DVD (?) Digital Copy I'd imagine something has to go in the above package or they are sold separately. If they are sold separately, then that is where I have to start thinking hard about whether or not I want to upgrade by buying only 4K or stay the course and continue to buy only 3-D Blu-ray and Blu-ray. I don't think I can afford to buy both a 4K 3-D Blu-ray release and a 3-D Blu-ray release for example. |

I guess I might be one of the only people to answer YES to this question.
Over the last few years I’ve bought about 10 BDs per month. Now I buy about 2. Part of that is that I already have most of the titles I want, but UHD-BD also factors in. Here’s why… BREAKING BAD is maybe the best TV series ever made. I can’t wait to own it and watch it again. But Sony has 4K masters of BREAKING BAD, it’s already available on their 4K server, and there’s little doubt it will be made available on UHD-BD. So I’m resisting the recent price drop. With the 4K remaster of GOODFELLAS coming, this will be the third time WB has released that title on BD. I predict they will release it a fourth time on UHD-BD. So I’m not buying this new version, and will wait anxiously until the true 4K version hits. I know I’m not the typical buyer. I’m running a 135” screen with a projector. So for me, UHD-BD makes a lot of sense – and is worth waiting for. |

Blu-ray has the ability to be absolutely perfect in the picture and sound departments, especially on a 50inch HDTV.
I have seen quite a few pitch-perfect presentations on BDlu-ray that convinced me, that all the studios need to do is do their best, but that's not nearly the case much of the time, so why would I reward themn with my money again? They should have tried to make BD the ultimate format with great remasters, no DNR, EE, etc., though I know it's business, and therefore not exactly realistic. There are still many great film that have yet to see a release on BD, so why on earth would I get into 4K? They'd better release the still unavailable films on BD first. Just my 2 Cents. |

Not at all. I only started seriously collecting blu-rays about 8 months ago, so I won't be ready to upgrade for quite awhile yet
![]() My main concern with 4K is that if it somehow does become mainstream, what guarantee is there that the transfer issues that plague so many blu-ray releases aren't just going to carry over to the new format? I really don't want to see that Sword in the Stone mess in 4K ![]() |

While I am highly excited for UHD Blu-ray I don't know how many titles will be released so I haven't stopped buying regular Blu-ray. When it does launch I won't buy any titles on regular Blu-ray that are available on UHD Blu-ray and I'll sell any titles I already have on regular Blu-ray that are a significantly improved on UHD Blu-ray.
As it is now I rarely pay more than $7 for any movies on Blu-ray (and often pay less than $5) so if I end up upgrading a title to UHD Blu-ray I won't lose a lot of money when I sell the regular Blu-ray. Quote:

I just don't want to end up having to upgrade my television the way most people upgrade their phones. After all these years, whether it is VHS, Laser Disc, DVD or even Blu-ray, it will look good on an CRT television.
![]() Blu-ray and some dvd`s look great on 1080p television. Some days I really do regret that I upgraded to an HD television. As much as I love the visual improvements, I really hate how much money I have spent over the years just upgrading. And, improvements will never end. No way to know what the future will hold. I guess that at some point I might upgrade if 4k does become the standard. But, I will certainly not be upgrading all the stuff that I have bought over the years. |

Time to start the headaches all over again, with having to research what the best UHD Blu-ray versions are from around the globe and importing them. Obviously just like now with Blu-ray many will be the same disc worldwide, but there will be some that probably won't be.

IMAX has developed the first fully integrated dual 65mm 4K digital large-format 3D camera. The IMAX 3D Digital Camera is a true 4K stereo camera. This means that both the left eye and right eye images are captured at full 4K resolution. ![]() http://www.slashfilm.com/new-imax-3d...ransformers-4/ |

Yeah buy what you like, and worst case scenario sell it (the older 2k BR stuff) if this 4K thing really goes anywhere lmao.
I mean if you've got the money and love the movie just get a blu ray of it. Worst case scenario you enjoy the shit out of it in the meantime for a year. When the 4K version hits sell the 2k one, and still get something back for it and then movie up to 4k whenever that time comes. It's just a shit storm either way. |
