Awesome news that more Truffaut is coming. I'm guessing TT also have Day for Night. Hopefully Criterion will put out The Wild Child.

Exactly! That's 4 Truffaut films already released/announced this year (3 from TT and another from Criterion).

Like The Bride Wore Black it's based on a Cornell Woolwich novel, but I far prefer The Bride Wore Black. I'm a huge Truffaut fan but this is one of the few films of his I don't care for, maybe because I'm a fan of Woolwich and in particular this novel of his called Waltz Into Darkness. Deneuve looks lovely, but she was miscast as a

The novel got adapted again with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas as Original Sin, but despite keeping the 19th century setting of the book (unlike the Truffaut film) it was even worse. I really wished someone would do that book justice one day, because its a great story.

I was hoping Small Change would be the next Truffaut release but this is excellent news! Really glad this has been announced. Hopefully Twilight Time continues to release more Truffaut titles on Blu-ray throughout the year (and next).

Day for Night is a Warner title, so it's pretty unlikely that TT have that one.

Day for Night is a Warner title. So it's a 99.9% improbability that TT has that one. They do most likely have Small Change though, from MGM.

Day for Night is the most glaring omission of the as yet unreleased titles. Small Change is great too.

Rumor is that Criterion has a deal with WB now. Might include titles like Day for Night and Kurosawa's Dreams.

Source? WB is infamous as the one studio who never license anything (the Badlands rights were with Pressman, and the UK Devils was DVD-only). There is the New World clue, but that's likely a one-film 'exception', not part of an actual multi-film deal.

Sadly, I don't think there's any video online. But I believe they confirmed at their latest Wexner Centre chat that they had a deal for multiple titles

Yeah, I heard the same (from a source offline). From what I've been told they gave them twenty titles including Blow Up, The New World and Before Sunset/Sunrise in addition to the two you mentioned.

THE GREEN ROOM ("La chambre verte") is rarely mentioned as one of his better films, but I've always liked it and would love to have it on a good Blu. It has a very distinctive look, as well as Nathalie Baye, who looks distinctively awesome.

What is the situation of his films on Blu in other countries, if anyone has a quick answer so I can preserve my laziness?

I know Arrow looked into the possibility of licensing The Green Room last year and found out an HD master of the film did not exist (or at least a suitable one).

Re: Mississippi Mermaid, I hope the subtitle situation doesn't end up like the previous two TT released Truffaut titles, but I fully expect the same.

Those would be dream releases if they turn out to be true. I would love loaded releases of all of those.

Anyway, to get back on topic, Truffaut is my favorite of the French New Wave directors, so I'll likely grab this...
