SONY STR DG920 vs. YAMAHA RX V663

I went with the YAMAHA RX V863 (aka HTR-6180) over the Sony DG920 which is bit closer comparison in terms of HDMI INPUTS (3) versus Sony's (4).

Both offer full decoding of HD codecs, iPOD connection, similar RMS rating and numerous soundfields. The RX V863 is actually a 7 + 2 HTR because it can handle two subwoofers and has the ability of re-assigning the " B " speakers as two additional front presence channels so in a effect you could conceiveably have a 9 + 2 home theatre system.

For what it's worth, I believe that most contributors here at this forum don't particularily favour Sony receivers over the likes of Denon, Yamaha and Onkyo.
