The 4GB is $499 and the 8GB is $599, and for that cost it ought to play Blu-Rays haha

Still has a really nice picture though.

Ummmmmmm... I think it took around 15 year or more to allow windows on its MAC, I don't think apple is too open minded about 3rd party people making anything for them. The phone does look kick ass like I said before, but don't get your hopes up, it is made by the same people who rip you off for a Mac. Like my wife said about a Mac computer, "That looks cute." That is where it ends though.

Apple=cute and that is it

I won't be picking up an iPhone just yet, probably wait it out and see what happens. I will be picking up a new Macbook Pro though...

Apple hopes to get 1% of the market. Very-very unlikely.
I would hope it has voice dialing. Even my cheap old phone that is over 3 years old has voice dialing. No need to press anything, you say the name if it's in your contact list or say the numbers to dial.

Out of our small office 3 or 4 people are looking to upgrade their ipods to this - instead of carrying multiple devices around.

I hardly doubt a company that puts others to shame on the usability front would make a product called iPhone that "isn't" for making phone calls". Seems a bit ludicrous given the track records of the various parties involved

Besides they have quite a base to tap into. And unlike the HTC it will probably work as expected..the reviews I've seen on the HTC Touch haven't been very flattering. Now maybe the HTC would appeal to business except everyone there uses Crackberries and this product doesn't seem to offer anything compelling on that front either.

Thats what I'm saving up for. Just don't have $3,400 laying around for the 3GB RAM, 100GB, 17" version

You should visit pcmag.com to check out their latest articles on the phone. I will most likely wait until the Holidays to pick one up. Let the bugs be worked out and hopefully the price drop; which probably will not happen, since AT&T is the single carrier of this phone!

This is exactly my point. This guy is bashing iPhone and calling the HTC the savior. However how many MP3 players used to be out there (and still are) offering the same features as the iPod? tons, but they have all failed miserably. It isn't just about features. Reliability and marketability/cache' matter. Apple is great with devices.

It was like when the RAZR first came out and it was 450.00. Now you can get them for free and they aren't even that good.

I'll still with my A-900 since all I want is a small phone that can call people.

Sorry to say this, but that is the most absurd, one dimensional and unsubstantiated comment I've ever heard made about Mac.

I can take it that you've never owned / used one.

A phone is a lot more complex and difficult to get right over a simple toy like the ipod.

History proves you wrong to the point of absurdity. Cell phones have been stable for many years, while digital media players were extremely flaky until iPod came along. The defect rate for MP3 players was unreal, which has never been true for cell phones. Of all of the functions in a PDA, Blackberry or iPhone... the phone is the simplest and been around the longest.

The way is it is; It's an Apple, so it'll work really well. I am very biased when it comes to an Apple when being compared to many other companies. Their products are outstanding IMHO.

Well said sir. Remember even Sony can't get an MP3 player right and their phones are nothing to write home about either.

I think the iPhone will be great, although when February comes round I'll be getting rid of my contract phone and going back to 'pay as you talk' as I don't really use a mobile much nowadays.
