So I'm guessing there's an English language menu option since it appears to be one of those catch-all discs indicative of Universal and Paramount European releases (because of the ratings logos for multiple countries)?

I haven't watched the disc yet, just a BDinfo scan on the disc.

I will post up (if no one beats me to it) if it has an English menu soon.

Another shout out to you all. Just got the Burbs Steelbook from the UK and also the Pianist. On top of not knowing these existed there was even extra info telling me that the Studio Canal disc was the right one for the Pianist.

Updated The Proposition. The U.K. disc has better compression.

I'm interested in purchasing the superior German transfer of Re-animator, but I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the various releases. Would someone please enlighten me?

Does someone know ith the czech blu-ray of Speed is the same as the HU/HK ones?

(it's cheap right now and as I have to replace my french disc, it would help a lot... the HU disc is long time OOP and the HK one is more expensive to import, so I'm trying to find a cheap alternative if it's possible, thanks a lot for your help guys)

Just got the new nordic release of Heroes (tv series) and I'm happy to report that all seasons are now finally AVC/MPEG-4.

The US, CA and UK had the first two seasons in VC-1 (rest AVC/MPEG-4).
Audio is DTS-HD MA 5.1 on all releases and all releases are region free.

The new nordic release contains a bunch of new audio dubs and subtitle languages. (English SDH on all seasons).
Season 2 also went from a 4 disc set to a 3 disc set (probably due the new re-encode to AVC/MPEG-4).

Heroes
Season 1
US/CA - VC-1, 5 disc set
UK - VC-1, 5 disc set
DK/FI/NO/SE - AVC, 5 disc set

Season 2
US/CA - VC-1, 4 disc set
UK - VC-1, 4 disc set
DK/FI/NO/SE - AVC, 3 disc set

Season 3
US/CA - AVC, 5 disc set
UK - AVC, 5 disc set
DK/FI/NO/SE - AVC, 5 disc set

Season 4
US/CA - AVC, 4 disc set
UK - AVC, 4 disc set
DK/FI/NO/SE - AVC, 4 disc set

I've filled in all the correct data here:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Heroe...lu-ray/117915/

You're saying "Season 3 also went from a 4 disc set to a 3 disc set", but your list says "5 disc set".

Just watched it now and as per other Paramount releases, you can select the language (the blue background with options), in this case either German or English before it takes you to the main menu.

This was my first time watching this film and I really enjoyed it. The PQ apart from the banding is great and I love the stylistic 'noir' look.

The audio is superb, great LFE and very good dynamic range.

Before the menu, this DTS-HD MA short is played:

There are no extras on this release.

Btw, this was shot using the Sony HDW-F900, which has a resolution of 1920x1080, which would explain why the PQ is what it is, along with the vast amount of CGI.

Yup, which is heartbreaking since pretty much everything else about it seems ideal/relatively superior

Yeah, I hadn't noticed that III, unlike II, was never released in North America. Atrocious sales of II, I have to assume?

If I remember correctly, Poltergeist II was a Best Buy exclusive when it first came out. The Japanese BD for Poltergeist III was definitely prepared by Fox in the USA, it's a BD authored for North American audiences. I presume it was offered by Fox (it's an MGM property) and no American retailer ponied up the cash for an exclusive.

Fantastic. I'll probably pull the trigger on this release as well, but I am curious to see if Warner Bros will release this new version in the US, as they've shown an affinity for releasing the same catalog titles over and over.
