The pq of season 4 is excellent.
So what do you care about more...the number of discs or the actual pq?

Quote:
"Like the Blu-ray releases of previous seasons, The Complete Fourth Season features another precise and proficient 1080p/AVC-encoded video presentation. The rich, sun-drenched hues of King's Landing and the bleak, icy despair of The Wall and the snowy lands of the Free Folk fare beautifully despite their differences, with perfectly saturated skintones, vibrant southern vistas, frigid northern snowscapes, dank castle interiors, visceral primaries and sinister blacks. Shadows are muted now and again and noise occasionally spikes, but each is attributable to the source photography, nothing more. Clarity is excellent too, with crisp edge definition, carefully resolved fine textures and excellent delineation. Even when darkness falls and scenes are lit by torchlight, the level of detail is impressive. (Oberyn's visit with Tyrion in the dungeons being a terrific example.) Better still, there isn't any macroblocking, banding, aliasing or ringing to report, and distractions are nowhere to be found, making it that much easier to sink into each episode."

Most of the crooks out there already have HD torrents of this show the day they aired. Why the HELL does HBO screw the source of their bread and butter ( The Fans ) with this piss poor reduced in value , increased in price Season 4 release. ?

This is the very reason why ( DIGITAL PIRACY ) exist.

Love the show. Hate the excutive marketing team behind these bone head decisions on how to market the home release.

I paid same price for Blu-ray / DVD / HD Digital copy last year and this year I only got Blu-ray / HD copy. Why the HELL would i want to pay the SAME?
I don't love that they're charging $5 more this season, but for $3.50 an episode I can watch anytime and anywhere, plus all the extras, and the premium packaging, I'm still a happy customer. The production costs have gone up considerably since the show began, I don't mind paying a bit more for the production value: awesome PQ/AQ, rich visual effects, amazing sets, exotic locations, and a substantial cast and crew they have to pay??? Yeah, I can live with $35 a season to watch arguably the best show on TV right now.

And it goes without saying, I can't support digital piracy in any form. It kills the industry we claim to love.

I had to dump my Martell and Tyrell sets on eBay. Prices are too crazy for me to keep.

I care. They should be consistent with their packaging from beginning to end. They are just getting cheap, cutting # of discs, eliminating dvd's (which some people like included). It doesn't look as nice when you have different sized boxes. The price was actually more after eliminating dvd's and another disc. Explain that one?

Don't forget that in order to get all of the Bonus Features, you had to buy it THREE times!

Very nicely set up! Looks exactly like my collection, except I have the Dragon statue in the middle of all the houses.

I'm probably in the minority, but Greyjoy is sill my favorite slip of them all. I think it's just looks so damn neat!

Be interesting to see the wk1 sales for this season compared to last.

S3 wk1 sold 476,000 copies / $14.3 million.

What is one now-dead character that you miss in the show?
I'd have to go with Eddard Stark

"Was it so hard to do this?"

You said that to me for posting a non-spoiler link and then you yourself post an actual spoiler. Lol. Wow.

A spoiler for season 1 in a season 4 thread. If someone is here that does not know Ned is dead whose fault is that?

A few pages back there was someone who bought the S4 blu-ray asking if they could start there or watch the first three seasons. Believe it or not there are people who are just getting into the show and may not have seen the first season yet.

I for one, love the slim packaging. I love how its light and easy to handle. Plus, it's just the right size. If you want to be consistent, then sell your old blus and buy the new slim releases.

SAY NO to piracy.

No! A spoiler is a spoiler. That's why the site has a spoiler function, when posting...for this very thing.

That is up to them, if they want to watch a show out of order they can but should be aware that if people are posting about a specific season they may end up reading about something that happened THREE SEASONS EARLIER.

People are too protective of others who are behind on television (and movies)

I feel that if something has been out for more that a week or two it is up to the person who has not seen it to avoid spoiler (in this case not reading a season 4 thread on a show they have not begun season 1 yet)

I would be fine with spoilers from season 4 being openly discussed but will respect the viewpoint that some people wait until the Blu-ray sets are available. Season 1 is fair game

Never said it was not a spoiler. I am saying people in this thread should already be aware of the events of seasons 1, 2, and 3. If one has not watched season 1 why are they in a season 4 thread and do they really expect not to ready anything about the events the preceded it?

And your link was about what was to come in season 5. How is that a non-spoiler?

Ummm production costs of the show itself? I'll gladly pay $5.00 more ($35 for how many hours of entertainment?($25 after selling the UV copy)) HBO isn't forcing anyone to buy anything.
Glad I'm getting the same quality on 4 discs instead of 5 and don't have to try to sell the useless DVD copies.

Is this person talking about PQ, Content, or packaging? PQ is pretty much better than Television broadcast and Digital Piracy, hands down.

Content? All ten episodes and bonus features, minus one audio commentary is there. So I know I'm paying for the same content.

Packaging? It's the same minus the DVDs. Does the person really want DVDs?

I pay for the Show. Even if it's just the show on a disc.
