I apologize if this is not the correct place to ask, but are the Best Buy exclusive slipcovers exclusive to Blu-ray, or are there DVD versions too? I am following one on eBay, but description says DVD. Thanks in advance!

There are DVD versions.

I do not think I have ever seen a DVD set from Best Buy with the house sigils during any of the four seasons. Seasons two and three included DVD copies (bare bones discs, all 10 episodes on two discs) along side Blu-ray and digital copies but as far as I know, the DVD only versions of the sets have always had the normal covers (Ned on Iron Throne, hand holding crown, dragon shadow, and sword raven)

I know season 1 had the sigil slipcovers for the DVD versions. Not sure about 2 or 3.

Multiple exclusives from one retailer creates many problems. Some people were sent the wrong sigils. Some people were sent the regular edition. It makes sense for each retailer to have one exclusive to avoid complications.

The spine on the regular cover doesn't look like that. That's part of the Targaryen dragon sigil, which isn't on the regular cover.

It would be nice to have one sigil for each store even though that won't happen. Maybe two at one store?

Bestbuy- Bolton and Stannis
Target - Martell and Tyrell
Walmart- Greyjoy and another house

All for next year.

No, I hope they don't do this. Best Buy gets these exclusives right 95% of the time. Target ships wrong/damaged items all the time. Walmart doesn't ship until release date (which means you get your item 2 weeks after release and most likely after they're sold out = good luck getting a replacement if it's damaged).

The only thing I wish they'd stop doing is splitting content up.

Alright, then I change my mind about the idea. Only if it was a sold at stores only thing then I love the idea.

BTW: I love the new teaser poster but don't like it as a cover box. I wonder how they'll make it work considering the dragon is on the top where "Game of Thrones" text should be.

Unless they plan on making all the regular collecting people mad by putting the text in the bottom

EDIT: Nevermind, seems like they can add a little space on the top.

Originally saw the spine on my phone and did not notice the dragon tail. I had no idea they had DVD along side Blu-ray sets with the sigil covers the first year. Cool!

It does explain why the S1 blu-ray sets did not have DVDs, then the S2 and S3 sets were combo packs (no DVD exclusive packaging), and now for S4 they figure most people only want the blu-rays.

Yeah, this last year or so and particularly the last few months has been bad. Apparently it's not just Amazon, it's been a pain getting things in and out of the UK in particular.

I ordered two Blu-rays a week apart from Amazon UK, the second one arrived rather quickly (because it came from outside of the UK from another Amazon UK affiliate site) and the first one coming from the UK itself has yet to show up. It was supposed to be here on the 25th, so I contacted Amazon UK today. They said the same "wait it out" until March 5, and without my asking they refunded the shipping regardless anyway.

Been reading a lot about this issue, I actually think mine will probably show up this week. If not, I will go back to request a new one. It's nice that Amazon UK gives just as good service as Amazon US even for international orders, a lot of companies who do international orders don't support them nearly as well, you are pretty much on your own.
