Hey guys, I just wanted to ask anyone/everyone if they could please give me a mildly detailed opinion on why I should dive into this game these days. I talked to a co-worker of mine today and I'm thinking of jumping into this world soon, but I feel really overwhelmed by the entire situation(to be frank) and I kinda feel left out since I ignored Destiny since it came out.

All honest opinions are welcome and encouraged. Thanks in advance!

I kept getting that error code after the update. Resetting my router seems to fix it for a day or so.

In a matter of a few days, you can have a guardian reasonably equipped to participate in most activities. I would guess that the difference between getting in now and getting in back in September would be that you will have a hard time finding a team of randoms to play the obligate coop missions with.

To sum it up: it's a big time-suck!

Seriously, it's a fun game, but it will require a lot of grinding to get the better weapons and gear, and then once you get them, more grinding to level them up to where they need to be. The real fun happens when you run raids and weekly strikes with friends, but to get to that point requires the grind mentioned earlier. If you have a friend who also wants to start at the same time, then that would be ideal, as you can co-op most things, which allows you to run the harder levels for more XP, lessens the grind time and makes it a lot more enjoyable.

Once you get to a high enough level, you'll be able to jump in with others in the forum for raids and such.

Be warned, though. For some, this game is extremely addicting.

Best advice ever.

Also important to note that all the armor and gun drops are random. It's very possible to do raids and nightfalls and either get nothing or get the same item over and over again.

I just started playing this game a few weeks ago so I'm close to being in the same boat as you. If you're going to dive in make sure you do some research on the Internet first. There is a ton of information you need to play the game effectively from the start.

I just put the game in and started playing the story missions with no idea about bounties or how to play the game as it was designed to be played. I beat the game and have equipment that people that are like level eight have. Now, I'm have to run around every night doing bounties and public events so I can level up my crappy equipment.

Do yourself a favor and take twenty minutes and read any of the plethora of information out there if you're going to start playing.

Hey JJ, been a while hope all is well man. I've only been playing a little over 2 months. Got the game for Christmas so it looks like I didn't start until after you went on hiatus. But yeah, the addiction to upgrade gear hasn't worn on me yet, and it doesn't help that I started another character.

I had that happen to me last night too!!! except I was only level 27 w/weapons that weren't upgraded at all yet.

had the nexus down 1/2 way before dying a 3rd time. I gave up after that.
