Default BDPS1 vs. BDP1000 juice worth the squeeze?

Im considering getting a BDP-S1 now. I use analog outs to my Pioneer 1014tx receiver and could use the decoders built in. Firmware 2.00 looks like a winner.

My moms been asking me about BLu-ray lately, and I'm sure she would buy my BDP1000 off of me for a good price (probably $400). making the upgrade to a BDP-S1, only about a $300 move. What do you guys think? I love the build quality and it's the player I wanted to begin with but got impatient and moved on a BDP1000 after about 5 delays of the sony player.

Vote/Discuss.

Thanks!

i'd say to sell it to ur mom. im assuming u have the ps3 as well (like a few of us here). i'd use that short term and then pick up the 300

yes, ull miss out on some of ur lossless for a short term... but hey

of course, i am forgetting whether the 300 has analogs

This is why BDP-S1 is better than 300 because it has an analog outputs for PCM Soundtrack whereas on 300 it doesnt have.

This option is only who wants to keep his old receiver, but if you are planning to buy a new receiver BDP-300 is the best bet.

Just wait for a bit. Your Mom will still buy the player off of you in 4 months when the 1.1 players will be dropping.

I think I will just wait, I want a player that can decode ALL, otherwise I'll buy a new reciever and a base model player.
