Yeah, a massive mediocre catalog blitz is a huuuuuuge advantage. That must be why BD is still spanking HD DVD week-to-week. True, a lot of non-exclusive movies are coming out, but they're still available on BD and if the current trend continues, the majority of those "neutral" titles will sell better on BD. I can guarantee you 300 on BD will kick the living daylight out of the HD DVD version in sales just like with The Departed.
I'd also consider Sony's catalog titles they have announced are much stronger than HD DVD's. The Patriot ownes Dante's Peak and Billy Madison combined. |
