Rhonda Fleming in color... This is going to be like dying and going to heaven. (I already own her in color with the Blu-ray of Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, but more is better.)

The Blu-ray can be ordered here.

I bought it with the "Pay through Amazon" option.

It hurts to spend $33 that I did not quite expect to spend today, but, in that John Cougar Mellencamp sort of way, it hurts so good.
I have also been looking at this. So tempted. I keep putting it off and had almost forgotten about it until I read your post. Looks like I will be spending more money this weekend.

Blondes, brunettes, redheads, and noir. My four greatest weaknesses.

Just ordered one of Amazon's last region-free copies of INFERNO at $29 including shipping, thanks to this thread! I'd heard the restored 3-D version was on Blu-ray, but a quick search revealed nothing (as I had the country set to USA). Now I see it's from the UK in both region B and region-free versions.

Looking forward to watching it! Now the question is should I double-bill it with some other noir that's non-3D, with KISS ME KATE in 3-D, with some other desert film, or just for fun with THE TOWERING INFERNO?

Some updates

1.) Eureka Wii be releasing Pickup on South Street (1953, Samuel Fuller) in August:

2.) The Mill Creek version of The Lady From Shanghai (releasing 3/17) has been reviewed and it appears to be the best release thus far as far as PQ goes. It also has subtitles, but no extras unfortunately. Just $8.99 currently on Amazon!

Comparison of all BD releases

3.) Twilight Time recently stated on their Facebook page that they're considering re-releasing The Big Heat. I have a good feeling they will do it.

Thanks as always for the support of this thread guys!

Hunh. Who'd'a thunk that Mill Creek would put out a superior product?

At nine bucks, I don't think I'll have a problem double-dipping.

I love The Lady from Shanghai, but I'll probably just stick with my corrected Blu-ray from TCM, since I find the dark look on that disc to be aesthetically pleasing.

I prefer the darker one too, judging from the screenshots.

Owl are you not shopping for a region free player right now after the Fuller announcement?

My Criterion DVD of Pickup on South Street will suffice until a Region A Blu-ray comes available. It really is a marvelous film.

I'm already unable to keep up with everything that I want that is currently available on Region A, both in terms of fiscal health and free time. I'd have to rob a bank for additional money and then add eight hours to each day if I bought a region free player.

In other words, a region free Blu-ray player would be like an unattainable femme fatale that drives me to ruin. I'm too well-versed in my film noir to fall for that.

hopefully the big C comes through on that one for you then, indeed a great great flick and I'm so excited for this release. Speaking of Fuller, have you ever had the chance to see Park Row? I would love to see this on blu as well but don't know if the elements are there? Anyway if you haven't I really suggest seeking it out I think you'll like it. It ranks with his best for me

Nope. In fact, I have not yet had time to delve into my DVD box set of The Samuel Fuller Film Collection that includes It Happened in Hollywood, Adventure in Sahara, Power of the Press, The Crimson Kimono, Shockproof, Scandal Sheet, and Underworld U.S.A.

I really need to get cracking on this box set, since it includes some solid film noir flicks.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I've dragged my heels over getting a region-free player as well.

I don't want to stir up the pot because honestly a person's money is theirs to spend, but you guys would probably end up saving some money in the long run by having the option.

Yes, the amount of Blu's/DVD's that I own but still haven't watched - or want to re-watch - is fairly significant. This doesn't even include all of the stuff I stream or want to rent. So, yes, no need for a Region-free player for me either, since I can't even keep up with what I already have available to watch....I never purchased non-Region 1 DVD's/Blu's because of the hassle & expense - and, again, because I have so much I want to see as it is, for me at least it's not necessary to delve into these foreign (to the U.S.) DVD's/Blu's that are more difficult to get ahold of anyway...

Back OT - Pickup on South Street is superb Fuller. I've seen it a couple of times on the Criterion DVD, and IMHO it's one of the best noirs from that era. Great urban setting, archetypal characters (i.e. the tough guy & the femme fatale), and some espionage thrown in. Fantastic.
