Um do you not do any online game or play any games that connect servers at all?

How do you plan on playing any games without updating isnt it required?

How do you sign on to PSN without downloading the update?

This is something I Hate about the updates. I cant play online unless I download something I have no idea about...

It seems like people are able to get online without the updates... how?

I really cannot stand that I cannot get online without the update. Its good in principle but like a lot of things it doesn't materialize without problems. I have been sitting watching the progress bar for a good 30 minutes and am only at 40%. I have a feeling that at some point its going to crap out. I really hope not.

Is it too much to ask to have sony put it up on their website at the same time so that I can put it on a flash drive and install it. Maybe it comes from the same network so it won't matter.

Still at 40%...

I can't even download it! It gives me an error at 6% and cuts off... then when I try to start up the dl again, all I get is errors. There's nothing wrong with my internet cause I'm obviously on here... Help!

Same here i been trying since 9p. Before that i had been on warhawk. Also i doubt its a difference but i not been Wifi for a week. Now am wired to modem. I've reset it 3x and it still cuts me off at 3%. I've never had dl issues before. Hopefully it will let me update it. I'm typing from my PS3 now.

Yeah I cant download shit! It wont work at all. All my major updates take no more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete and this minor one is taking forever something is wrong.

You always have to dl updates if you want to get on your id at all. Btw i made it to 13% but that took 20min. Then it disconnected. This sux.

It sounds funny, but maybe the quakes affected the servers. It timed out MANY times for me on the ps3, i downloaded it through my pc and put it on a SD card, it updated fine. It was still terribly slow through my pc however, so do not go expecting miracles if your ps3 itself is also having issues.
