I'm not even much of a fan of SAO at all (I really only liked it for what everyone else seems to dislike about it - the Happy Family Housekeeping Romance thing), it's just that it's an Aniplex title, and I like their quality releases in general. I still need to buy the first two volumes, yet - where the Happy Family Houskeeping Romance stuff actually is...

If you don't like it then why buy it? You reseller you.

I love SOA, I think it is the love that they have for each other and the fact that they are a family is what drew me to it. Well that and the fact that I used to play MMO's like PSO on the Dreamcast. The story is decent enough and the animation is down well also.

If you want feels though go and watch Mother's Rosario.

Well, I have some screenshot comparisons for Gurren Lagann. I'll just post one quick comparison, I don't want to bog this thread down too much with off topic posts like this.

This was taken at around the two and a half minute mark of episode 1. The UK transfer has noticeable compression artifacts all around his face, sunglasses and uniform. While Aniplex is looking pretty flawless:

Am a bit of a video snob though and I tend to notice little things like this which I can't stop seeing afterwards once I do though, in honesty, while in motion, the compression artifacts in the UK set are less noticeable. It's just slightly bothersome to me knowing that they are there in the first place.

Anyways, I can post more comparisons in a more appropriate thread if any of you are interested.

I'm with you. Once you notice compression artifacts and other bad encoding errors it's hard to dismiss when it could be so much better... and thankfully these Aniplex releases are, should I ever decide to get them.

I thought that was for Canadians only? Are you sure that applies to ALL international customers?

No, not sure at all. I just assumed. Honestly, I didn't even know they shipped overseas until you told me. Might be best to call RS and find out for sure though.

Yeah, went with EMS. According to tracking, USPS attempted delivery but I wasn't there to accept it, which is weird since I was at home waiting for delivery.

I think am going to go ahead and order the rest of the Aniplex releases. Which is sort of crazy of me since the UK release isn't that terrible but noticeable enough for me nonetheless to want the upgrade.

And I'll just go ahead and post the rest of those comparisons (not many, I just have 4 more to share).

haha I finally did. It look so much better and they match nicely. Now I just need to find a clear DVD case that holds four disc. I really wish Funi would tell me where they get their cases from.
