This was Long overdue. I'm happy I held off on picking up part 2 until now. I'm all over this release.

III is vastly underrated. It's a cleverly shot little horror film with some good ideas. I enjoy it a lot more than II as well.

It's one of those movies, you either hate the third one or you like it. I like it too.

Cool. Do you remember if the screening you saw had any of the deleted scenes that didn't make to the official theatrical version?

Great news! I wish Poltergeist III was getting a standalone release since I have the first and second Blu-rays already. But maybe this will be cheap.

I've never seen the third one, but I like the first two. I was considering importing the UK version of the third, but I may just wait on this double feature -- even though I already have the second one on blu-ray. I've heard the UK release has great picture and audio quality, but its only special feature is a trailer. I'm going to wait and see what's included on this release before I decide to get it or go with the UK version.

No extra or different scenes. It was the same film except for different music for the end sequence.

I remember bringing my brother to the screening. There was a roped off area (the best seats in the balcony) What I thought was an elderly woman carrying a huge bucket of popcorn wearing a poncho was allowed into that section. .... turned out to be Andy Warhol

I could've sworn these had separate releases already? Or is this the first time for you folks in the States?

I just recently watched all 3 and I have to say... With older eyes the last two really suck compared to what they did in the first film and I saw them all on the big screen. Wait ,that's not true I missed the first one but I remember loving the last two when they came out. Now...not so much.

I think it's the first time in the States - I've had the individual releases of II and III from Hong Kong for about 4 or 5 years now.

Nice to see P3 get a standalone, since I have P2 already as well. I wonder what kind of box art we will get on both the standalone releases of 2 & 3. I'm sure amazon will drop these to $9.99 soon.

Cool. Can you get bitrates on those HK discs?

I'm glad they're releasing them individually as well. The double feature was making me lean more toward just importing the UK release of part 3 since I already have part 2.

Part 2 is the same as the US disc released a few years back (Best Buy exclusive, I think).

Part III is a 50 GB disc, AVC and averages about 31.5 mbps. I'm pretty sure the disc content is the same as the European releases of Part III that have been out since 2010.

I'm guessing Poltergeist II will only be a reissue of the existing release, and wouldn't be surprised if the same applied to Poltergeist III (European disc will now be released in the US). Don't hold your breaths on anything we haven't seen before.
Our only chance of getting extras would be Scream Factory.
