Blu-rays DO look better on the lx700 when set to display at 1080p. 720p tvs are actually 1366x768---it uses those extra pixels and thus, better picture. Most games and DVDs don't benefit though, becauese most games max out at 720p and DVDs even less, so they can't ever properly fill those extra pixels. Games that do have 1080p do look better though. Like Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Upscaling 720p games to 1080p is really only beneficial on a 1080p actual display, where it has tons of extra pixels that need a good scaler to create the illusion of filling them.
