For the cleric beast, don't dodge AWAY from him. Dodge TOWARDS him. There's a small spot by his legs that he can't hit you. Dodging away will result in almost instant death, or severe damage. His reach is massive, and he never only swipes once. That's the big difference between souls and Blood. You don't want your distance anymore.

[Show spoiler]That's weird, I talked to Ioesfca at the starting point where she locked herself in and then I talked to that first lady who won't come out of her house and I wasn't given the option to tell her where to go. It only let me select "No" when she asked if I knew of a place.

If you find any NPCs that say more than just the same thing, talk to them several times. You'll usually get an item, quest, or something else from them like a gesture. I went to tell her about the cathedral, but she turned out to offer another safe haven.

[Show spoiler]Having trouble with the Bloodstarved Beast. Tried like 6 times last night and most attempts ended with me dying and the boss at just a few hits from death. I do just fine until phase 3 when I inevitably get chain poisoned and die- he's also way harder to hit in this phase because he thrashes about more . If I only I could figure out the timing for stunning him- I've had no success...I might give up and summon some help.

Also stay away from his left hand (your right). He can do a combo that will kill u instantly. I always attacked from my left.

If you still have not beaten Father Gascione, you will find after him there will be opportunities to farm shards for upgrading your weapons.

Did Sony do away with the 24 hr wait period for all PS4 game saves? I know on PS3, that waiting period is still a PITA.

[Show spoiler]Iosefka offers a reward for referrals, which is suspicious. So I chose the Oedon Cathedral, too. Let me guess the flamesprayer that you get from the guy in the house by the Central Yharnam lantern might help agains the machine gunner in Old Yharnam?

By the way, I have devised that when you pick up consumables, like blood and bullets, if you don't have inventory space, it goes automatically to your storage. I can no longer pick up anymore blood, because my storage is full. I've never put anything but initial garments in storage.

Yeah I noticed that too. Also, I think it'll take from the storage automatically. I have a ton of bullets and had 5 health packs; those are gone but I am always using them. I would have stored something like a weapon, but that does not seem to be an option at present.

Thanks. I did that last night when I first upgraded my axe. He made his comment about the doll and then I went back out and checked it. I'll try again tonight.

Beat the father last night, been exploring the new area and bought a saw cleaver to go along with my axe. I also found a rather dashing top hat, though I prefer the badass look of the Hunter clothes.

[Show spoiler]it could possibly. I just made my way to the gunner, and after climbing the ladder, shot him with the blunderbuss a few times, knocking him off the ledge. If you do that, go back to the hunters dream and return, his item drop will be next to the gun.

If you amass the echoes for it, buy the hunter chief emblem and do that first. There's an armor set there that's church based. If you beat that boss, then return to the gunner, he'll be friendly.
