Interesting. Wonder if it's a one-off or will signal a major new/renewed catalogue deal (like Universal)? If it's not a Universal title I'm very intrigued as to what it might be.

I always thought the director Tibor Takacs had a promesing future following The Gate(1986) with this film. He did pretty good quality B movie stuff after, but I thought he would end up being the next Sam Raimi.

It's looking increasingly likely that Arrow has Eaten Alive, but it's not certain.

That's not a bad guess at all. I think IFC has the US rights to the film.

The only question is, would they want to release something that explicit, even under the Scream Factory banner?

Plus it doesn't really fit with the rest of their output, if you asked me.

I wouldn't classify it as horror at all.

I wonder what the odds are that they did another deal with Universal?

There's always a first to change things up. And it is a horror film, just not your run of the mill kind. If you ask me, I don't think Mad Max, EfNY and Class of 1984 belong on the label.

But to be honest, I would just like to see something from Scream that makes me more than happy. I mean, I've only got Witchery and Ghosthouse to look forward to for year so far (did get the Blacula double feature). If the well has dried up, go look for water.

Maybe Shout Factory just needs to create another banner. Call it Sex Factory and they can release Borowczyk's The Beast as the premiere title.

Considering Arrow has released it in the UK and is releasing a different Borowyczk film here, my guess is if it sells well they might think about putting it out in the US. That kind of thing is right up their alley, not shout factory's! Cult Epics would be the most likely candidate outside of Arrow I'd think.

I'd almost forgotten Fox - perhaps Scream have another deal with them? But what 70s Fox titles are left? Norliss Tapes is a possibility. Would have to look into other candidates.

Would love to see the long-overdue Tyburn films, The Ghoul and Legend of the Werewolf. A deal for one of the frequently-requested Bing Crosby Productions titles - Arnold, Reincarnation of Peter Proud, Ben, Willard - would also be a real coup, though probably unlikely.

Arrow already turned it down for the US. Someone else has the rights. It looks like both The Beast and Immoral Tales are with IFC in some capacity.

The only two I can think of are The Mephisto Waltz and The House on Skull Mountain. I'm not sure if Fox would still have the rights to The Norliss Tapes or not.
