I really wish From Software would explain stuff....not so much cryptic as frustrating

I am officially burned out on Bloodborne.......tired of the farming to get enough blood vials to take on the areas that drop next to nothing

I finally got the trophy for Gem Master or whatever it's called. I received a Tempering Damp Blood Gem (5) with a level or rank of 16. My question is, why can't I use it on my weapon?? One of the slots for my weapon has the same gem but level 14. Do I need to level up a certain stat? My hunters axe is maxed at level 10 by the way if that helps.

I can't decide if that's cheating or not. I've left the game suspended for over 12 hours before but have only fought one boss. I hear they may not be patching this anytime soon because if the memory leak type of bug. But it may explain all the fast playthrough videos.

I am kind of in the same boat. I have been playing for around 10 hours and just made it to the Old Forrest after finally figuring out how to get there (online guide). After returning to base camp again I came to the conclusion that I have absolutely no idea what I am doing in this game. Is there even a story besides some kind of hunt goes on at night? Am I actually dead? I feel like I have missed so much of the story while I am waiting for Bloodborne to leave my screen.

The minimalist style story is pretty normal for a From Software game; its more about discovering (for yourself) what the story is........but its pretty much 'kill kill kill'

I like how it makes you explore the hell out of areas. Just now, I discovered the Crow Mother NPC waiting to fight me, but the later levels gives few, if any, blood vial drops.....and it seems online help is off playing other games...

Yeah. Kinda bummed the official guide isn't out till the 14th. It was apparently delayed to add an additional 128 pages.

damn, really? Well, that is one helluva addition....

question on badges: so, killed Crow Mother, got her crow badge, and know it unlocks blade of mercy, which I see as an option in the messenger bath. Do I still need to pay for it on top of that, or do I use the badge somewhere specific for it to appear in my inventory?

I had preordered the guide, but cancelled it, because I don't want it that late. And this game is not nearly so complex as Souls, as far as weapons, armors, boss drops, NPC story lines, etc.

Finally got to Labyrinth Rom today. It took a few tries, but not as many as the three watchers in the upper level of the same dungeon. Not as easy as Father Gasciogne in NG+, either, which I managed to solo this time.

I back my game up so often that I never play with a few hours of memory drain. But once again, it explains watching easy looking videos and then actually fighting the same boss to find him or her doing things against you you never expected.

When you are all saying Crow Mother who in the hell are you talking about??? I looked it up and videos for the Wet Nurse came up and the videos were listed as Crow Mother. Her name is Wet Nurse...

Either that or Eileen the Crow. An NPC you first encounter in Central Yharnam, early in the game, overlooking the sewer. She gives you the cape shake gesture. You can kill her for an item or follow her story line, during which you will find her fighting a hunter of hunters. You can help her, which I tried and failed. But later you can still pick up the item she drops.

The badge is like a personal seat license. You get access to items in the store. You still need to pay for them.

Oh ok. That's the one I need to find in NG+, if I can ever get to this optional boss in the Labyrinthes.

I almost had Vicar Amelia dead in NG+, solo, without using mist. She was about 90% dead, then she freaking healed four times in a row and was back up to over 50% heatlh. I did not make it.

Anyone kill the Loran Darkbeast? Just like the damn Abhorrent Beast it involves a bit of luck. Doesn't matter how you roll there are hits that seem to be unavoidable.

What on Earth is happening with the bosses?

I swear the first 4 were by far the worst in the game.

Here is me ranking them by order of meeting them so far

Cleric Beast 7/10
Father Gascione 8/10
Blood Starved Beast 9/10
Vicar Amelia 8/10

Witch of Hemwick 5/10
Shadow of Yharnam 6/10
Rom the Vacous Spider 7/10

The One Reborn 5/10
Darkbeast Paarl 3/10

And according to what I read...
Celestial Emissary 4/10

Why on earth did they put some of the hardest bosses so early???
