There is making a boss a challenge and then there's lazy developers making a boss cheap. Sorry but a boss should not be able to trade hits with you every f***ing time you finally do get to hit him. Once you're under him though, he does that area blast and if the camera wasn't so ****ed up in this game I would be able to run away a little easier.

I must of got him last night cuz I checked the Loren & he is not there. I agree with you 100% that that beast is pure luck plain & simple. I farmed for more materials & finally got enough to open the Defiled Chalice (5th Dungeon) I'm gonna get back at it soon as there is that one & Pthumeru Ihyll (6th Dungeon) left, each having 3 layers. So I got 5 more Dungeon bosses to go before I can take on the 6th boss - The Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen.

The bell ringers are what scare me most in these Dungeons aside from the bosses. I fear there will be 1 in 3 rooms that are very close. I really hope that isn't the case.

I'm also gonna start saving the game to USB before any boss from this point on. Some are real easy to get to but I remember some Dungeons Lamps were not so close to the bosses when you died.

This by far the hardest game (Aside from Sega Master System games ) I've played. I never tried any Dark Soul games before this one.

I knew that about the fifth (defiled), but can't open it. I need some Loran Bastard or such. So I figured it was something from the Loran chalice dungeons and opened that first level. I'm stuck on that first boss. Blood Letting Beast, I think. I can't read his moves well enough to parry him. I can get the parry sometimes, but I think the grab move can not be parried, and then he transforms. I ran out of blood vials. Level 109. Beat Vicar Amelia half-solo today. I had a partner help for about half the fight, then I think he went AFK.

Ok I tried some adjustments to runes to survive longer.

There was only 3 areas with very little enemies before unlocking the first boss. The boss also appears to be easy but I lowered my attack down for health.

I think if I reverse this process for each area & boss & IF the dungeon is small before the boss, it might not be insane.

I'll quit the game or take a long breather;

If the layers ever get as big as the earlier dungeons, hell no.
If the bosses are massive & lightning fast, hell no.

That first boss is tougher then most story mode bosses. I'd rather take on 2 Vicar's by myself.

I was having fun.

After dying dozens and dozens of times on that Loran Beast I looked at the Defile Chalice(where you get the final chalice for the optional main boss)and realized I didn't even need to kill the damn Loran Beast. Bye bye.

I stopped playing about a half hour ago and beat the first boss with my life halved. She wasn't too bad and the next boss, that fire alligator looking guy you fight in one of the earlier chalice labyrinthes is back and I'm pretty sure I can beat him. He's pretty predictable, it's all about dodging to the right or left of him depending on which way he swings his head. Not sure who the next boss or two is.

After I got her health down to around 3/4 I did this combo as I backed her against the wall.

2K, 3K, 3K, 3K, 4K, 4K, 4K

She probably had another 4K left in her HP. Basically 1 or 2 more hits & I think I would have got her.

My attack was 812.

Geez, do the math.

Here is the Est damage I did on her before dying.

Her health Point is EST 32,000HP. I have 975HP & if she hits me twice, I'm dead.

How are you dying at some of these bosses at your level?? I'm lvl 132 currently but you're well beyond that. I just figured you would be annihilating people at this point.

I believe the game has some extreme diminishing returns. Once you increase a stat over 40 or 50 they get WAY less effective. For instance he has 99 Vit, I have 35, but he only has like 100 hp more than me o.O

I know they have diminishing returns, just like Demon Souls and Dark Souls for the most part. I just figured his damage output would have been better considering he's at 99. I know they want to make these games really hard but the idea of diminished returns when leveling up is something that needs to go. If you spend the time leveling up to a really high level you should have the right to go through the game near god like.

It's stupid when developers force gamers to play the game "their way". I'm not talking about using cheats but spending hours and days leveling up.

The story bosses Yeah I was annihilating most of them. Dungeon bosses require patience in comparison to the story ones at my level.

Max level ain't as good as it sounds or looks.

I took a breather & went back. Put her & the dog down. Now I am in Layer 3. I checked some of it out & died quickly. I decided to take on a hunter witch & her 2 dogs roaming around.

With all of the previous labyrinthes I would explore everywhere. The Defiled labyrinte I'm going from one lantern straight to the boss. I'll explore everything in the final labyrinth where you're life isn't cut in half.

By the way, Amygdala is the third and final boss. At least she's not too hard if you know the right way to beat her.

I can relate to that.

To be at max level & kick the ever living s*** out of the bosses in story mode was fun. In the Dungeons you can kiss your @ss kicking goodbye.

I think I found the equation. Each Dungeon is like a NG+ in regards to enemies being stronger.
