Once we have a full league we will set up the rules and etc. Dont forget we still have almost 2 weeks before this comes out. So we have plenty of time to get things situated and ready to go!

Few teams left! AFC IS FULL!

Rams
Lions
Panthers

All have some solid weapons in certain positions!
he already comment on that...

well one thing that i think should be emplamented is no created players. yes i love to create my player every year and play him through super star but for the league I would say no just to make it fair. Unless you guys see it as fair then I am down with that. another rule no quitting. how do you guys feel about people who go for it on 4th down all the time... to me it's half a dozen to another but didn't know your thoughts I don't do it unless i have to normally i punt. how many of you are getting it at midnight... I know I am...

I'm curious about what people think about people trying to run out the clock in the 4th. I hate it when they get the ball and take up the whole 4th qtr on 1 drive.

Cool i got the request and added you to my friends list.

Just wondering once the league starts.
If someone gets injured or suspended for the season are they off your team?
and if a trade happens in real life does it effect the league?
Or once the league starts we can trade amongst ourselves.
&
when they have a roster update does the league use it?

Anyway it goes is fine with me. Just curious.

Cant wait to get the game..Ive had success with the demo so many times now

i personally don't mind running the clock out cause if your defence can't stop them you probably won't win the game anyways it's just like real football, the same can be said for going for it on 4th down all the time if you can't stop them then yes it sucks but it happens in real football all the time. it falls on the same lines as the pat's last year no one could stop them from scoring and people said they were running up the score plane and simple stop them and they won't score. alot of the roster questions won't be answered untill the game comes out. so we just have to sit back and see what happens man can't wait untill next monday at midnight.

I hope real football strategy is employed . . . and glitches/money plays/ect. are not exploited.

I 100% agree on no-created players. However I'm not even sure if you could do it on-line. All the madden I've ever played on-line is just straight team rosters, but either way yes NO created players....Going for it on 4th down I have mixed feelings about. We are supposed to be playing an NFL sim...and 90%of NFL teams(except the freaking pats) don't go for it on 4th down unless they are in that no-mans zone/special circumstances. I've played people who go for it every single time BUT play good D and stop them and you get better field position....So I'm not sure where I stand with that

I'd say if the winning team has the ball in the 4th quarter so be it. That's how the NFL works your team is winning in the 4th they are going to run out the clock as much as possible play solid D and don't let them drive on you ). However I'd say no running the clock out the rest of the game! Pick your play make your line adjustments and go during the other 3 quarters.

I would assume there will be a immediate roster update to fix Shockey/Taylor etc. I'd also assume there would be a way to turn off roster "real live" updates during our league so we can trade amongst ourselves etc.

Few things I've come to hate over the years of playing on-line madden that I think we should discuss and see what everyone thinks.

1. CONTINUOUS use of No-Huddle/Hurry-up. Reason being sometimes you will pick a bad D and get burnt shit happens. However then the opposing team will no huddle/hurry-up right down the field knowing you have a bad D and forcing you to waste a Time-Out to fix the problem. Yes I know teams especially mine (colts) run no-huddle exclusively BUT the difference being is the D can switch packages as needed and not having to waste a time out to do so like we do. I'm not saying No no huddle but I think at bare minium we should all have a gentleman's agreement not to do the scenario I just portrayed.

2. Flipping plays back and forth 10times. This was a "glitch" in last year's so they might have fixed it. Teams would come to the line and start flipping their plays back and forth a bunch of times making players run all over the field and eventually it would cause the D not to re align themselves leaving 1-2WR's completely un-covered. I'd say pick your play get to the line make your adjustments as you see fit and run the play. There is no point to flipping it more then twice at the MAX other then to take advantage of a glitch.

3. DIVERSE Plays on both O and D. I can't stand playing a team and all they do is give the ball to LT or Hurl Long Bombs to Moss figuring one is bound to be caught eventually. Same on D playing teams that have no concept of running a D and all they do is Blitz play after play. So just running a diversity of plays. obviously play to your teams strength so this is more of a gentleman's agreement to keep it fair and fun.

4. I think we should give each team 3-4min at the start of a game to set-up audibles/depth chart and then be done with the pause button, with the exception of challenging a play. I hate when a team is pausing the game every 5min.

5. No QUITTING. Take your beating like a man lol.

6. All in All it is supposed to be a fun league so just keep it "fair" no obvious use of a "glitch" etc.

Can't wait to get started should be A LOT of Fun!!!!!!

about the fourth down the basics should be implemented like you can only go for it if your in your opponents territory and its 4th and less than 3 yards or if you are losing badly... etc

also about running the clock down how long are the quarters going to be? if its short quarters (like 5 min) im sure running it down in the 4th quarter with a 3 point lead would be pretty easy

quarters should be at least ten minutes long. anything less really wouldnt be fair. i mean you can have a one score lead and have a ten minute or so drive and thats the game. so basically try keeping it as real as possible with quarter lengths.

if a quarter is like ten minutes the game will last about an hour at the most.

I've been playing madden for years and with 5min quarters a game comes VERY close to about an Hour................10min is just WAY to long. We would be talking 2hr games and I don't have enough time to play 2-3 2hr games a week.

Maybe try 6-7min quarters. I do know what your saying I've done it to people before where I drive the entire half and score right at half time lol

I don't think 08 even let you change the quarter length for a ranked game . . . did it?

i play twelve minute quarters by myself and takes me maybe an hour and fifteen minutes. so i dont see how a ten minute one can be two hours.

Depends largely on playing style......if you are constantly running the ball and running down the play clock and never go out of bounds then maybe.

I would prefer for the league games to be ranked . . . so whatever the game requires or allows to meet that criteria . . .
