I got Ascendant Shards, a Legendary Hand Cannon from an Engram, and some other rubbish. Insta-dismantle.

I still have not gotten my 3rd Crota NM and Crota HM ships and despite getting several helmets from the Crota fights tonight, none provide me with health regeneration.

And this damn game is trolling me. I'd like to put it down to play other games, but in the last 2 weeks, I've gotten a Fang of It Yut, Titan raid gloves, Titan raid boots, Titan raid chest, Titan raid helmet, warlock sun breakers, and last night a Bec Myth.

So it's not like I couldn't spend some time leveling crap up.

At least you got exotics to dismantle for shards. You saw the load of garbage I received. 12 ascendant energies, 8 ascendant shards, a sniper rifle that I googled and found out that it's primarily good for PvP and I don't play PvP.

The real kick in the balls came as I was logging off. I needed 11 ascendant shards when the night began to upgrade my gloves to get my third character to a 31. Just as I was logging off dpickles sent me a message and said to join his fireteam for a free loot drop in Crota. I jump in and get a set of raid gloves which instantly made the 8 shards I got worthless.

The shard thing is a blessing in disguise as the gloves that pickles got me are way better than what I was trying to upgrade. Huge thank you to him for being so generous.

I've gotta get my ass in Crota to get some decent guns. My weapon situation is beyond laughable at this point.

I've been apprehensive about doing it because I know how much time and energy you guys put in and I didn't want to screw it up. I guess I have to just jump in and learn. What time are you going to be on tonight?

I'm guessing 9-9:30 again? Like Adam said yesterday, we've been two-manning it just for the challenge, so I wouldn't worry about screwing anything up. I'm sure we can probably pick up a couple more guys and most everyone is patient while others are learning here.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not looking a gift-horse in the mouth here. I'm gonna use it because it's better than what I have currently. I'm not trying to be melodramatic about my weapons. I'm not mad because I only have two icebreakers and one g-horn. I have a level 31 hunter with a green scout rifle for a primary right now.

Dodger and I were two-manning the nightfall and he died next to a psion and I didn't have a single void weapon between all three of my characters to break the shield of the smallest enemy in the game. I had to use my rocket launcher to kill him so I could revive Dodger. That's how bad my weapon situation is.

A bit of advice on leveling up raid armor: Hold off putting ascendent shards into a piece until you have all circles completely unlocked, and you have all of the ascendent material you need to fully level the piece. This way, if you happen to get a better piece (better stats) before you can fully level what you have, you haven't wasted shards on a piece you're not going to use. I learned this the hard way early-on.
