I said to hell with it and killed that Crow Hunter for her badge. I've already seen and heard the next two parts of her story and just wanted to buy that weapon. Apparently I was missing one more. I need to kill that King again because I never gave that summons letter to a certain NPC.
K so basically all of the ones you wanna send are in locked doors?

Can't remember what you get from that certain NPC but I did that.

Well, after the beggar arrived, the guy across from Arianna was the first to die. Then I eliminated the beggar. Later, Arianna was killed anyway. So I just said screw it and killed the old lady and the chapel dweller.

I know I killed the guy in the woods & the only person I found to send to the church was the ol lady who asks if you've found a safe place.
If you see a door, usually one with an incense lamp, knock. Crow and Alfred are outdoors, though.

Edit

There was one room before that third boss. I went back & found Blood Rock. So now I'm done with the Dungeons. There may be better stuff, but I wanna whip some @ss with the Burial Blade in NG+

Unfortunately, it isn't better than Ludwigs Holy Blade.

Highest attact I could get with Burial at +10 with my best gems was around 650
Highest attack on Holy at +10 with best gems is 898

Damn

About the little girl (Viola) quest line
[Show spoiler]If you give her the brooch, she ends up wandering in the sewers eaten by the pig, but if you withhold the brooch you can send her to the Chappel or Iosefka's clinic where she'd die dissected for "science". After Rom, going back to the window, her sister is now there asking if you found a white ribbon (you found a red one if Viola died in the sewers).
If you give her the red ribbon, she will lament her sister's death, but if you stick around you will hear her rejoicing finally having the ribbon.
If you then come back later you will fing her body at the bottom of the ladder, killed by the ogre, and the white ribbon (red ribbon washed?) on her body.

About people dying in the chappel,
[Show spoiler] the beggar is a cannibal (as hinted by what he was doing when you found him), and he will kill the rescuees over time.
Otoh there are instances of reports of the nun killing the red haired lady, for reasons / trigger unknown

Yeah, I read about that nun killing the prostitute. I believe it has to do with her being pregnant. The more she goes along eventually the old nun will take her out. I think she knows the red haired woman is going to give birth to a monster.

Congrats! I'm only three trophies away from it.

I'm really hoping From Software releases some additional content or an expansion of some kind. They did that with both Dark Souls games so I think they'll do it again.

Not that we're really using spoilers anymore, but
[Show spoiler]the beggar is more than just a cannibal. Attack him and he transforms into a lupine monster, just like Gasciogne and Amelia did.

This Watchdog of the Old Lords is just maddening. I can literally run around the room with him forever without a problem. The issue with him is that sometimes he follows his normal head swinging attack (the one that most players are using as an opening for attack) with a very quick follow up or even a quick charge attack. If it's that latter, I can not survive it. I could probably win, if I took hours running around waiting for him to puke lava, slashing twice at his back leg and retreating, then waiting for him to puke again. But he does not do that very often. I decided to use the gems that reduce durability but boost damage for this fight. I have yet to get him to half health. This is likely the biggest obstacle keeping me from the last trophy needed for platinum.

If you need to, take him down slow with poison daggers. I've read it takes about 14, since it only takes one to give him the debuff. It take a while, but hell with it.

I tried that. Not to cheese him, but just using every resource at my disposal. I don't think 14 is enough to kill him. Maybe I was not fast enough with the knives. Anyway, I left the game running today. Maybe he'll only have one attack left by the time I get home.

I had to put the game down for a few days when I started the defiled dungeon. Needed to recharge my desire for chalice dungeons.

Took me a few trys to take him out. I was originally doing the roll under his head when he goes to hit you and then hit him once on the side then hop back before he wraps around to bite you.

I found a faster way that doesn't involve you having to roll and then eventually hop back. I come at him head on and get him to do his head swipe then as his head is coming back I strike with a strong attack(not a charge move though). Only thing you have to watch out for is when you're that close sometimes he'll do 2 and sometimes 3 head swipes one after another because of how close you are. It's kind of random but once he does the first one I take a second to see if he's going to do another as his head straightens out, as soon as I notice he's just doing the one, I strike.

The other tactic I use which is actually even better is I get close but slowly start to back up and let him follow you. Eventually he'll do that fire breath move where it looks like he's coughing/choking up small flames. Keep backing up while he's doing that so you don't get hit and then run in to strike his head once he's done. I think he does about 4-5 coughs before he stops. That was basially the tactic I used to kill him and it worked out pretty well.

If we're not using spoilers anymore, all the better

Did you guys do the /make contact gesture with the Mother Brain?

That was one weird and creepy moment, alone in the (almost) complete darkness facing a giant brain full of eyes, and trying to do a dance move hehe.

Otoh, it scored me the best Moon rune in the game. By stacking both Moon runes, my input in Blood Echoes has apparently jumped by 40% (Student ghosts in the Lecture Hall now score me 1000 blood echoes each instead of ≈ 700ish). Wish I had been able to get that earlier hehe.

Tonight, if all goes well, Wet Nurse goes down. And either tonight or tomorrow ... I will see the game's ending (at least 2 out of 3 I think).

Now ... I plan on doing a USB/ PS+ cloud save before getting it on with Gehrman. Should I then play the Chalice dungeons before getting in NG+?

Is NG+ worth doing at all? (I don't plan on platinum-ing this game tbh)

Imo, amazing game all around (with a few tech glitches which hopefully will be fixed). Should definitely be a contender for GOTY 2015 I think.

If you're not interested in trophies, I wouldn't bother with NG+ or dungeons, unless you are really enjoying the game or want to explore the "lore" elements of the game on your own, or if you have nothing else to play. The dungeons just are not that interesting in the context of modern games. Irrespective, once you finish NG, the first few dungeons are no problem. Once you get to Ailing Loran and Pthumeru Defiled, though, there are parts that will drive you crazy, and playing NG+ just for the stat increases and just to take a break from the monotony makes sense. You could also try out PvP, if that sort of thing strikes your fancy, and there are gems in the dungeons that seem to fit that purpose well.

I've been there twice.

Are you joking about the gestures? lol

--

I started NG+ but it's unclear if the Chalice Dungeons are harder. I did most of them before NG+ If you missed story lines like I did, then yeah I think NG+ is worth it.

The biggest performance issue in the game is in one of the first few Dungeons. Those big electrical things that drop Arcane Haze. I ran into two of them & a few other enemies were around too. The game went slo-mo until I left that area. I thought the PS4 was gonna lock up.

I'd put the game pretty high up on which is deserving of GOTY, this or Dying Light.

Use the USB save to make it quicker. I'd save before entering the gardens.

1. Submit (Trophy)
2. Dont eat the cords and fight Gerhman (Trophy)
3. East cords, fight Gerhman..quit game after second boss appears..buy his weapon. (Need weapon for Trophy)
4. Beat final boss (Trophy)

You don't need to go into NG+ for the platinum but you do have to play Dungeons

re: Derb

Not joking

If you do the "Make Contact" gesture (you get it from a statue in Upper Cathedral) in front of the downed Mother Brain for about 30 seconds, you get a Rune ("Moon") that gives you +30% Blood Echoes, which stacks with the earlier versions of "Moon" .

I currently have the +30% version, and the +10% (you get in Hypoean Gaol). Apparently there is a +20% I missed in Mergot's Loft.

My runs in Lecture Hall went from 11k Blood Echoes to 15.5k+ Blood Echoes each (in about 2 minutes). With the third rune I could be looking at 18k+ every 2 minutes.
