I prefer The Thing's look in the 2005 and 2007 films. For some reason this one seems a bit off to me. Maybe it's the lighting or angle?

The people saying 'eh, you know, this might turn out to be pretty decent' might be able to wait until it hits BD to check it out.

The Thing, as pictured, looks more like this... which was the very first, earliest rendition of the character:

...before it was dropped, and Thing became more refined, to look like this:

...where he doesn't look like he's had a bad allergic reaction after eating peanuts. The first look was dropped for a reason and there's a reason why it hasn't been used since.

It's possible he'll evolve, and they can always change up the look, but they should have started with this right out of the gate:

That's what I'd like to see, not because I don't like the design (it's OK IMO), but because I want to see some kind of living rock.

At least it's still better than a shorty in an awful rubber suit.
