MS does care. The minute HD DVD goes under that makes Blu Ray THE next gen DVD. That gives the PS3 a HUGE advantage that MS does not want it to have.

Tough to imagine playing something like that on a console unless they enable full KBM support, among other things.

Frankly, I'll be letdown if that's the case. WoW is very popular on the PC, but it's old news. Most of the people that wanted to play WoW are playing it by now.

I'm not sure how many more people out there would really go ga ga over WoW on the PS3.

So it's June 11. When is this news supposed to finally come out?

Looks like the price cuts are paying off for Toshiba.

They now have 150,000 standalones sold, up from 100K a couple of months back.

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/s...e,119772.shtml

These reductions are getting too tempting for a lot of people.

Wouldn't surprise me if most of the additional 50K are replacements for defective merchandise. Toshiba isn't exactly know for making the most reliable HD player.

Most of the people will buy 1-2 movies theyve been wanting (which shockingly tends to have Batman Begins in there somewhere), and then wait for their free movies and netflix. The die hard buy tons of movies guys already have their players.

Someone you should send a copy of that article to those clowns at Universal.

This is great news for BD supporters. When your competition cuts their prices to the bone and still has to lower sales projections by 50% they (Toshiba) are in big trouble.

The 100K was for the US. The 150K number doesn't say. It could be worldwide. Toshiba is prone to using numbers in such a way to maximize the impact.

The 1 million target is worldwide.

when you're in statistics...and someone wants you to come up with the figure...

the usual response by the person creating the numbers is...

"what do you want the numbers to say?"

Default Free HD-A2 + 5 free movies

Ran a search, didn't see it.

I thought this was funny. They are just giving them away now. I don't want one, but if I was in the market for a new TV set I would take it. It'd be funny if someone went in there for a TV and told them that they didn't want the player.
