I don't really count the tv version as the tv version in the US will be different from the tv version in the UK.
The US tv version is usually one that was done at the same time as the cinema release so they have access to the actors to do dubbing etc but US network tv is a bit of a joke as they are so stringent on what gets cut.
The UK stopped showing US tv versions 20 years ago although they do occasionally turn up if the BBC want to show something like Beverley Hills Cop in peaktime.
After 10pm pretty much anything goes these days in the UK.

So that leaves the unrated and R versions which we've covered already.
Still hoping that Sony release it in Australia as they did on dvd.

The Mechanic & Hard Times arrived today.I was on the fence about purchasing The Mechanic because I was hopping for a better release but that may never happen so I went ahead and ordered it.

I see. From reading reviews seems like there's not much action scenes.

It's not a bad movie, just not what one expects of a "Bronson flick" from that era. I haven't seen it in a long time and the PD copy I watched of it was awful, but I remember liking it more than I thought I would. Fifth and last time Chuck worked with Sturges who co-directed. It would be nice to see a decent copy of it as it's been in public domain hell forever.

Why do you expect that?

Although not a certain feature the forced subs problem is something that tends to turn up on French discs more than any others.
Which is why I purchased a Bluray player with UOP disabled so I can switch them off if necessary

There are quite a few Bronson films I would consider his best that are not out in the US. Red Sun,Chato's Land,10 to Midnight,St. Ives, that's just a start Hell I would purchase Master Of The World with Price & Bronson.

The Indian Runner is another great movie featuring Charles Bronson (in a small, but memorable role) that hasn't made it to Blu yet. Since MGM has the rights in North America, I could definitely see this coming from Twilight Time or Kino Studio Classics.

Those caps from DW5 that Use Yer Illusion posted & deleted () are strange, useless & frustrating for many of us:
Strange because not a one has a Bronson shot in it, useless & frustrating because they're from a nice looking REGION frickin' B BD!

Caps link care of UseY0ur1llusi0n: Deathwish V caps-a-holic comparsion (http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...D=2362#auswahl)

I have that disc, it's not only Region B but also encoded in 1080/50i - so if one has a region free player they also have to make sure it can handle PAL content. Not a bad transfer though. Strange that the disc was only released in Scandinavia. There is a small flaw where the picture freezes up for a few moments, but nothing major.

They've been hinting it for over a year now, have they officially said it will be out soon?

That would be great. I watched Hard Times last night what a great film and it looked beautiful they just don't make-um like they used to.
