After reading all the available rumors and spoilers, and no matter how much of it turns out to be true, there's nothing plot or character-wise that's going to bother me. The real challenge, and Lucas' great weakness, was dialogue, character motivation, and the delivery of lines. We're in very competent hands for all of those things. I feel good about Ep. VII, but not over-hyped.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will certainly be released on 3D Blu-ray by Disney. The question is... will they in the United States?

I would guess so. Disney has put out most of the Marvel releases in 3D on Blu-ray and might consider this to have a similar marketability. Why they have abandoned it for their direct live-action films and animated productions (while continuing support for some other releases) is another question. Perhaps this will relate to what LucasFilm wants. Maybe Marvel pushes for the 3D home media releases to still occur in the US?

Marvel and Pixar create their own home releases, Disney distributes. If LucasFilm wants to release a 3D version of The Force Awakens, Disney will distribute it. Fox will distribute the other six through 2020.

[Show spoiler]if Kylo Ren is Han Solo's son, and also Rey's brother, and Kylo Ren, as alleged, later kills Han Solo, then Kasdan and Abrams have created a villain for the new trilogy that stands the family dynamics of the Saga on their head. He does what Luke couldn't possibly do -- kill his own father -- leaving the family to figure out how to deal with this madman. Can Rey kill her own brother? Can Luke kill his own nephew? How will they deal with it? What will this do to Luke?

Confirmed the desert planet in TFA is NOT Tatooine. It's called Jakku.
