I'm curious.....how do i know if the one i'm currently in the process of receiving from Best Buy is the 1080p (fixed) version?

We’ve instructed our distributor to issue a recall of all outstanding discs. We’ve corrected the problem and have told our distributor to replicate and distribute a new batch of corrected discs ASAP.
That was posted April 30th and my bluray was shipped May 1st (best buy). So will i be receiving the correct one?

Doubtful any fixed copies have been pressed yet. Certainly not shipped out.

Sho-Nuff, I am wondering the same things. I ordered my copy from DeepDiscount and it was originally backordered and then shipped out on 5/1 after I saw these posts. I'm wondering if there's a way to tell if I go the corrected copy. I'm guessing that I didn't because DeepDiscount doesn't even have the movie on their site anymore and Amazon isn't currently selling it because it's being reviewed. Have you tried your copy? I'm waiting to open mine until I hear some more info.

On Apr 30, they "told told our distributor to replicate and distribute a new batch of corrected discs ASAP". No way that new batch was at retailers and ready to ship out on May 1.

Troma choosing to self-produce Blu-rays is just like when people try to get up to go to the bathroom without assistance shortly after hip/knee surgery. It inevitably leads to poor outcomes.

I emailed TROMA and they told me to return it back. I guess we ordered just as they were recalling.

I'm assuming TROMA will release a statement (through social media) when the correct batch arrives at stores?

Best Buy currently has it removed from their website.

Thanks, that's what I was figuring. When I called DeepDiscount last week, they didn't know what I was talking about. Looks like I'll have to call them back and set up a return/refund.

By the way, I love your avatar. We need The Last Dragon to come out on Blu-ray.

I think I will do the same thing, I just received my copy from Best Buy as well. Hopefully Troma will add a note or something to the packaging of the fixed copies so we can identify them?

Also, does anyone know if the third film, which is listed as being released on Blu-ray today, is actually available anywhere or was it delayed?

Any word on the replacement copies, or what happened to the 480i copies? I'd like to know if the 1080 discs are worth getting, and/or the 480i discs are out in the wild.

No thread for Toxie III yet, but finally got it from Amazon. And.....

The DVD (from the previous releases) is directors cut, but the Blu-Ray is not. The opening video store scene is heavily edited.

Sigh

As was the 88 Films Blu its transfer came from. Either the director's cut was originally produced in SD, or Troma was being lazy with providing proper elements to 88.

And on top of that it doesn't look any better.
