My theory is that Creasy actually survived his wounds and escaped. Then he went into hiding in Boston to lead a calm life and truly retire. He took a quiet job at a hardware store and was living happily ever after, enjoying his evening coffee at the local diner while he read his favorite book.

Everything was going well until he met a young eastern european prostitute and befriended her at the diner because in some way she reminded him of Pita. When she gets beat up and hospitalized by the Russian mob he's suddenly thrust reluctantly back into the lifestyle he thought he'd escaped and must exact vengeance once again.

In the book he does. Pita on the other hand is raped and killed, making his vengeance on the mob that took her much more plausible.

Blade Runner

That movie is a sleeping pill in sci-fi form.

I guess for me it's Avatar. I've tried on more than one occasion to get through it, and I just can't. To me, it's boring, silly, and simply not a good film.

I really enjoyed it when I first saw it in the cinema. I thought much of the online hate was over-the-top and that many people were just jumping on the 'It's Pocahontas in space' bandwagon.

Then I re-watched it some time last year and realised how dull it is. I felt dirty for defending it for so long and I traded the Blu-ray in.

HA!

Honestly, from the parts that I've seen (which probably adds up to something near the entire thing, when all is said and done -- just in parts), it really seems to me that Cameron became so enthralled with the technological aspects that he forgot that somewhere along the line he should probably put at least some focus on making a good movie.

Slumdog Millionaire
I just don't get the love for it. I thought the tilted camera shots were annoying as hell and it was one big clichéd love story. Like 'It', the first part with the kids was the best.

Forrest Gump
One of the most overrated movies ever. Never go full retard.

Apocalypse Now
Too long, too absurd and I don't know what was so special about Brando's performance either. I've seen other actors do a better crazy person.

The Departed
Martin Scorsese kills everything that made the original Infernal Affairs trilogy so great. Wahlberg is annoying as hell and the changed ending totally dumb. The love triangle really didn't do anything for the story either.

Avatar
Beautiful 3D and cgi aside, it's nothing more than a bad retelling of Pocahontas and Dances with Wolves. I can't believe it took Cameron 10 years to come up with such a weak story. For me it kills the movie.

Man on Fire

The real life cop that Mark Wahlberg portrayed in The Departed is basically a cop version of the real life mobsters that Joe Pesci often portrays (like those in Casino and Goodfellas).

IMO, Casino and Goodfellas are much better than The Departed. And this is coming from a guy who prefers Leonardo DiCaprio to Robert DeNiro (flame suit on ) and by far, to Joe Pesci (who is rather 1 dimensional, IMO).

Although I did actually enjoy The Departed, Casino and Paccino's Scarface, I've only seen each of them once as I found the sheer length of each made an otherwise enjoyable experience feel more like a slog.

Under the Skin had a whopping box-office of $5.7M. I'm not sure it qualifies as "popular."

I really wonder how many people have ever even heard of it.

lol me too. I actually never watched Nacho Libre and Slumdog Millionaire, although i knew they were popular back then. But "Taken" is a great action adventure movie actually, the sequel is also good.

Put my name down for Drive too, I thought it was a cool film but really really overhyped and very very dull.

Birdman. People love to tell me how wrong I am when I say I didn't like it.

Others:
- every movie directed by Joss Whedon (I'm only counting his first two since Age of Ultron is still recent and I haven't seen it)
- every movie directed by David O. Russell not named Three Kings
- every movie directed by Rian Johnson
- Gravity (in fact, nearly every Alfonso Cuaron film)
- God's Not Dead (this was probably the worst film of 2014 and yet it made $60 million and is getting a sequel)
- The Conjuring
- Dances with Wolves
- Shakespeare in Love (I only has this on Blu-ray as it was part of a set so that answers the question of why I have a copy)
- Iron Man Three
- American Sniper
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Blue is the Warmest Color
- Frances Ha
- Whiplash
- Wreck-It Ralph
- Frozen
- Big Hero 6
- The Babadook
- It Follows
- The Hunger Games series

I mean, trust me: I love the film, and i WISH strange, little, weird movies like that were more popular. But the day that Frances Ha is considered popular, I'm checking my blood for hallucinogens.

ETA: We're talking about a movie here with a grand total box office of just over $4M.

You obviously just didn't get it - that's what I get told every time I say it was a dull movie.

I think Blade Runner is far from great too. Has a very interesting look to it but I found the story to be lacking a lot. I think there were a few sci-fi films from that time that get more praise than they deserve. The look good or have great effects but the story is poor.

Blade Runner is a chilling story, and that's how I felt when I saw it in the theater and that's how I feel about it now. I think that any film that addresses, in one way or another, what it means to be human is scary on some level.

Blade Runner is my favourite film but I do admit that I return to Blade Runner for the world and not for the story or the characters. The same can't really be said for Drive for me, though, Gosling looking cool in a tacky jacket only stretches so far.

Interstellar! I don't care for Sci-Fi, so therefore I can't get into Star Wars nor Star Trek or any other Sci-Fi movies and TV series.
