The first film didn't get any exclusive slipcovers so this film should be getting at least 5 or 6 character slipcovers

I'm currently hoping that August 4th date is true and we get Daredevil on the same date. Then wait for sometime in September to release Agents of SHIELD Season 2 & Agent Carter. I'd really hate to try and buy all four at once.

It's very trustworthy. It says on that website on its home page that its the U.K.’s Top Supplier of American DVDs and Blu-ray. They go by having movies on DVD and Blu-ray available when they are released in the U.S. . So with that being said - the Blu-ray release dates listed for the movies on that website are reliable, trustworthy, accurate, however you want to put it. Yes, The August 4th date is true.

Not doubting the validity of the August 4 release date, but that's really early - just a few days over 3 months from theater-to-BD in North America. My guess was early September, but not complaining about possibly getting to have it a month early.

Yeah, I'm not complaining about it being released a month earlier then originally thought either.

I would be very surprised if it ended up coming out in August. I'm going to guess September like the last few April/May Marvel releases. They do seem to have a pretty solid schedule there and there's no reason to change it now. (Kind of like Spider-Man did for its first four entries. Home video in November...until Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed and they just let it out into the wild in August.)

EDIT: Just looked out of curiosity and every single Marvel movie that came out in May (plus the April release of Winter Soldier) going back to the genesis of the entire MCU with the first Iron Man was released in September. Sometimes early in the month, other times later in the month, but always September. Looks like that's a fresh month for Marvel physical release.

I agree. It's likely any BD release will be in September, with a digital release likely prior to Labor Day.

The only reason I can think of for getting it on Blu-ray early is that they're really concerned about piracy and wanna get the Blu-ray/DVD out before leaked copies become pervasive and people don't feel like buying the real thing. But I'm sure that's an issue for all of their movies so I don't see why they'd need to be more aware of it now. I assume Whedon's director's cut is already done and he's probably already recorded a commentary, so all that's left to do is slap a few EPKs and deleted scenes (if any) on there and start pressing discs.

Kind of a long shot, but maybe Marvel/Disney is worried about Ant-Man underperforming, and wants the Blu-ray/DVD of AoU out ASAP to revive interest in that movie/MCU in general so people go see it while it's still in theaters. Who knows

That website doesn't look reliable. Will wait for official confirmation. Sean B. doesn't have the greatest track record.
