Along with that XANDAU on BD, and fix the audio on that instead of using the horrible 5.1 mix.
Maybe ROLLERCOASTER on BD, huh.
Maybe "Ssssssss", and, THE BOY WHO CRIED WEREWOLF.
Then there's the SCI-FI sets released on DVD - those would be nice on BD.
Not to mention the Classic Monster sequels.
Mmmmm
+1!!!! I most definitely agree! Hopefully Universal will go back and re-visit some of their classic films!

This was an interesting movie by Universal. Odds are I won't buy it (unless they surprise us with a 5.1 remix). Wonder if they'll try Phantasm II next (not that I don't have a problem with the Shout! release).

The stand-alone Scream Factory Blu-ray of Halloween III: Season of the Witch fits all of my needs.

It's a good disc that does justice to the most underrated movie in the series.

If it looks as good as the old Universal BD of Halloween II, i'll probably pick it up just for the PQ.

Hear, hear!

EDIT: And it has the best score in the series as well.

Hopefully this means they might release Psycho II and III themselves also as the Shout releases are region locked.

I already have the Scream Factory release plus another copy in the Halloween box set. I think I can do without this one. But it is nice to see Halloween III getting more and more attention these days.

I bet this will be just like part two, where its basically a little more film like, as opposed to the Scream version. I will be curious about this as well.

Loved H3... reminded me a lot of wicker man with its pagan horror theme. I already have the Scream copy with a slip, so I doubt it'll be double dipping. Hell, I already did with the complete Halloween blu ray set from Scream.

If only Halloween III had of been called Season Of The Witch only, it would have probably been way more popular in the horror circle. It's an awesome classic horror film and gets undeservingly bad-mouthed. I have noticed that more and more people these days are warming up to it though. It is my favorite Halloween film after I & II. It's better than any of the movies 4 and up. IMO.

Will definitely be purchasing this when its released. I've had enough of Scream Factory and their middling transfers.

What we really need is Universal to go back and create non-DNR'd to death masters of THE THING, CAT PEOPLE, and FLASH GORDON. I'm sure Universal's encode on H3 will look at least marginally better than Shout's, but I don't think it will be worth double (or triple) dipping for it. But I'd pay $50 for a bare-bones CAT PEOPLE with a good transfer. Come to think of it, didn't Universal prevent Shout from using any of Universal's prior Cat People DVD extras for Shout's Blu? Probably just contractual issues, but just maybe, Universal was holding them back for their own better-transfer release. Ya, I'm kidding myself.

I think re-releases are fine when there is a significant upgrade to P/A Quality but I'm all about Universal releasing all the great films from their library (catalog) that they're sitting on. There are soooooo many wonderful Uni movies that have yet to see the light of day on blu-ray and deserve to be released.
