Damn, I just noticed that I've put 60 hours into this game.

For me, that is incredibly rare (especially in 2 months!) The only game I've played more of recently is Skyrim (over 100 hours), and maybe GTA V, though when I was young I probably played the PS2 Maddens about an hour a day after school, so I'm sure their usage times were astronomical.

To be fair, though, this game was almost made specifically for me. Horror is my genre of choice, and I hold a special affinity for Lovecraft. So I guess it shouldn't be a big surprise to me that I've enjoyed the hell out of it.

I put around double that time.. but I'd say 40 hours of my total time spent was just farming blood echoes.

I think I'm about 120 hours in total and nowhere near done with the main storyline, let alone platinum.

So far the dungeons that I have done have been entertaining but not super difficult. Some of the bosses were a little hard but not like in the main game. Maybe I have to go deeper.

Taking a break for a few days though to play some Destiny and get actually started/re-started on Witcher. Besides, the Unseen Village was making my blood pressure go up.

Depth 1 and 2 are more or less pushovers. Once you get to depth 3, it starts to get a little harder, but depth 3 shouldn't be too tough. Rom in depth 3 can be hard for some, although I found her to be easier in the dungeon actually. Depth 4 and 5 become challenges are where it gets real. You also get very nice blood echoes in those.

this game is SOOOOOO damn good and I had so much fun with it. Well, it was also probably the most stress I've ever had playing a game, heh. But so worth it. Didn't do ALL the chalice dungeons on my first playthrough yet as I play the game without co-op help exclusively and that one defiled dungeon where you only have half your health bar really kicked my ass. But fortunately you take over your dungeon progress into your next playthrough, yay!

Even bought the strategy guide and a T-shirt today, tee hee.

The art style of this game is right up my alley. I mean even if the game wasn't as much fun as it is, I'd enjoy to just drool over the beautiful design of Bloodborne. Hope the expansion will be great too! I will definitely play through it again but there's so many other games I need to play too, ugh. So many games, so little time!

Figures, I platinum the game and then they release a patch making the game a bit easier. I like the challenge though.

This is good...

OK, I really hate those Brain Suckers. I've lost over thirty insight in he Upper Cathedral to those bastiches.

On the plus side, Celestial Emissary was the easiest boss I've ever encountered. Now let's see if I can beat Ebriatas.

Hmm, maybe won't have to wait forever to match up with randoms without the level cap.

OK Guys I have been reading this thread off and on and now I am convinced I need this game, I also just got an email from Gamestop showing that this will be on sale for $39.99 new starting tomorrow(Monday) for about a week long while supplies last.

So what I am hoping someone can help me with is this, is there a good tutorial at all on what to do, not to do, in what order to not mess things up later in the game etc.? I just don't want to miss out lol

Thanks in advance for any and all tips/help.

It's not a very complicated game imo, you just need to have patience, and not get annoyed when you die

as for 'missing out':
1) I personally didn't follow ANY side story, I actually didn't know they exist until I read about them here, when I saw people talking about characters in the game, I was like wtf are they talking, maybe later in the game.. but in the end, I didn't witness any of that, but I didn't feel like I missed out, because it's not a "story driven" game, at least not to me, also this is what re-plays are for

2) as for the second type of missing out, which is way more important imo, are optional areas/bosses, but good news is, before you encounter the final boss, you can roam the world in any order you want, you can re-visit all area and not miss out on anything

what I would recommend, is just to play and discover the game alone (without following a guide), you might need to spend a lot of time in the first area to gain levels, but it get easier afterwards

Thanks, I am just mainly not wanting to do something maybe "out of order" and then it ruining the chance at something because I did something in the wrong order or way lol, I really hate when games do stuff like that, it is not very often but some do, and I am terrible at doing several saves to prevent anything like this lol.

I messed up and killed the NPC in the church. It bothered me so much I restarted the game after 35 hours.

Aside from the cords (there are only 4 in the game, you need 3 to watch one of the three possible endings, and you can easily miss 2 without knowing it), you are mostly correct I think.

For the cords, to make sure you can get at least 3 and trying not to spoil too much, you:

- Need to tell Arriana (the prostitute) in the Lower Cathedral Ward district to find refuge in the Oedon Chapel (not the clinic) / Do so -before- arriving in Byrgenwyrth (and definitely before defeating Rom)
- If you recruit Adella the Nun, do not keep Arianna's blood on you, but rather have Adella's (avoiding Adella's jealousy and risk of her killing Arianna)
- Do not send the suspicious beggar/ found on a roof to the Chapel (he would kill the present NPCs)

The other 2 cords are either un-missable (1 dropping from a mandatory boss) or available at any time to discover (1 in a secret location).
