Yes it is. I got into a disagreement with someone just a few weeks about about this code. He though it was up, up, down, down, left, right, B, A, B, A, Start. Which isn't even close! Haha

The code is UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A... then SELECT, START if you want 2 players, or just START for one player

But Contra was my first game beaten as well... from what I remember

Oh WoW!!! The konami code!!!

I used to be able to finish contra without even getting hit.

Remember the continue code for Akari Warriors??? ABBA start.

And if you were playing two players and only had one tank you guys could both get on one tank...time it just right...and if you both entered the tank at the exact same time...it became two tanks!!!! (same with the helicopters)

That game ROCKED...tanks with missles.

Contra for me also. god, half the the time i can't remember what i did yesterday but i can recite that code as if i'd learned it 5 minutes ago. Damn i feel old.
