Meghan McCarthy, the current showrunner of Friendship is Magic, confirmed that the movie will be a part of the current show. She will also serve as Producer, and help with the story.

Full length, I'll go and see it like I did Rainbow Rocks. I hated that those got a limited run but at least I was lucky enough to have place around me actually show it.

Don't forget guys that EQ Girls - Friendship Games is coming out soon as well.
Also, I believe iirc we will get 2 more Seasons at least before the show ends.

Oh it will be, finally a movie that actually has Ponies and isn't a EQ one. Don't get me wrong, I love and enjoy the EQ ones but this is long over do. And I hope Sunset Shimmer will be in it.

Kristin Chenoweth will voice a new character in the My Little Pony movie

Lionsgate and Hasbro are teaming up to prove that “friendship is magic” as the two companies are developing a big screen, animated My Little Pony movie. Meghan McCarthy, fan-favorite writer and producer for the “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” animated series, is penning the screenplay, which will be produced by Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures. Lionsgate will be distributing and marketing the film globally (except in China ). Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth will voice a new character in the film, which is Hasbro’s first animated feature.

The “My Little Pony” brand has been enchanting fans of all ages worldwide for more than 30 years with its socially relevant messages of acceptance and friendship. What started in 1983 as a toy line of colorful ponies with unique symbols, called “cutie marks,” has since exploded into international, multi-media, pop culture phenomena that grossed over $1 billion in retail sales in 2014. The entertainment continues to engage and inspire kids and families in over 180 countries across the globe.

Excellent news! I was worried that Sony was going to distribute it but I'm glad Hasbro have gone with Lionsgate, great choice. I'm also very happy Meghan McCarthy is writing it now. I've not seen Kristin Chenoweth in anything but based on her credits I think she should be a good addition to the film. I wonder if John De Lancie will be involved.

Interesting, I thought Meghan McCarthy got a new job but then I realized she did but it was within the company.
I'm interested to see what it will even be about considering that pretty much almost everything has been covered the last 5 Seasons lol.

Oh well till then I have Friendship Games to look forward to.
