Too bad she got the arguable worst death any character was given in the entire 6 film saga. She recently credited the late Anthony Minghella with saving her career afterwards, since most directors lost interest in working with her after watching her in The Phantom Menace. So... thx Anthony.

I lost interest in film itself after watching The Phantom Menace.

Honestly, I never saw any of the others, and haven't seen a SW movie of any era since I walked out of the theater after seeing TPM.

I'm glad that Natalie's career hasn't been harmed by it. If some movie as utterly horrid as TPM had kept us from having Black Swan, for example, I would be punching someone on the face right now.

I've seen much worse films than TPM though, although I'm no fan of it at all. To not revisit the OT films because Phantom exists... now that's a tough one, mate. Good thing you have Nicholas Winding Refn's movies to enjoy, then.

Well, I saw the original Star Wars in the theater 12 times, and had to wait for hours and hours to see it the first time. I've seen the OT films so many times over the years, I pretty much know them by heart. But then The Phantom Menace happened, and Lucas messing around stuff ... eh. I just didn't care anymore. *shrug*

She brought that same bored, bland "performance" to the Thor movies. She might be a nice person, I don't know, but you can tell she thinks she's "above" these sci-fi/comic book movies, and it shows in her performances. She's too good for these kind of movies, but not the paycheck.

I don't care if an actor does a role for a paycheck, plenty do. But look like you actually want to be there, that's the least you can do.

I didn't mind her in the first Thor movie. However, I think she's an entirely mediocre actress. Sometimes she's really good (Garden State, Leon) and sometimes she's pretty freakin' awful (Star Wars).

See, I liked her in Thor (haven't seen the second one yet). But then, I liked Thor more than a lot of people seem to. So, maybe that has something to do with it.
